Brown gunk leaking from carb |

This is strange. Just got back from the Isle of Man, bike not missed a beat once. Pulled over for a break and after about 10 mins I noticed a brown oily petrol mix seeping out of carb no2 running down onto the generator cover. I rode another 300 odd miles since then, turning the fuel off every time I stopped (which was annoying). I've just taken the carbs off and found the float bowl rubber gasket split on no2 carb but, carbs are clean inside! So what was the brown stuff?? It felt like oil, so now confused!!

MCN has a review of the boxeye in this weeks copy, as a secondhand bike, and mentions FOC-U as a source of info [as well as the yamaha owners forum {of which i am also a member}]
worth a read, but nothing we didnt already know.

I have the factory manual download and it's not clear to me how this is done. On my other bikes it was loosen lower fork clamp bolts then tighten up basically pulling the lower fork clamp up towards the top yoke.
Is it the same? Cos the manual isn't clear at all.

I dont know why I waited so long to apologize for this clown that somehow got elected president of the U.S.A. I have a blue 2005 FZ1 and 2014 FZ09 or the MT-09 as it's known in most markets. I've been riding 34 years, 12 months a year. Here in icy Chicago thats sort of rare. The Urban Ballet with millimeters to spare. Yeah, I enjoy traffic.
