Hello all,
I removed my front fairing, speedo, headlights and changed handlebars today.
All went smoothly until I went to start it and nothing happened. Tried for another 30 secs and it finally worked and off I went, bike seemed to be running well and all electrics working.
Got home and starting issue is still there, will not respond to start button but eventually will start. I have a look at the starter relay and undo the two bolts and positive battery terminal (I should have undone negative too, doh) one of the starter relay terminals drops onto the positive terminal, sparks and bike turns over a couple of times til I knock it away.
Put it all back together and now I have no electrics to lights indicators etc. Took battery out and when on charger it states flat battery, start charger and it shows full battery, turn off drops back to flat battery.
So have I cooked my battery?
What could have caused the first starting problem? Should i replace the starter relay?
Checked all fuses and none blown.

Been doing a bit of service work on the mighty thou , all the usual things and a flush of the cooling system , its looking a bit murky brownish in the header tank so pulled the bottom hose off and connected the garden hose and gave it a good flush for 10 mins or so , refilled with some fresh antifreeze and started and let run for a while whilst checking for leaks , no leaks but the fresh
antifreeze is brown again :o ....so i guess i need something more than just clean water although the fresh antifreeze is doing a good job of loosening the gunge :rolleyes .......thinking of using "mannol 9965" "bars flush" or something simular....you lot used any of these ?

Just realised a lot of you foccers actually work in the week unlike this character idling away his days in the sunshine.
I put an ad up yesterday in the for sale section......quite a few goodies for you discriminating FZS600 riders...all items new & now surplus to requirements.......If you dont like the prices well why not make a cheeky offer? :lol

My new fork springs arrived today. The forks had new oil a few weeks ago so I don't need to change that. I was wondering if it's possible to lower the bike onto the fully compressed forks to measure the air gap while on the centre stand or will it just tip forward too far and roll off the stand? It would be nice if I can avoid having to remove the forks if possible. I have a trolley jack so I can lower it gradually and cable ties for the brake lever if needed.
