  Tank loose after crash
Posted by: Drezza - 05-09-17, 12:22 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (16)

I went into the side of a lorry that turned across my path on the Fazer, the front fairing is smashed up, forks bent, headlight unit cracked, fairing stay bent and both engine covers cracked. I've managed to put on a new set of forks and the the bike still seems straight.

Now when I was installing the handlebars, I noticed the tank is very wobbly from side to side. I've checked the front mount and rear mounts are tight, and the tank still has the rubbers underneath. I cannot figure out what has changed to make it become so wobbly?

The handlebar got bent into the tank slightly when I dropped the bike as there is a small dent in the tank. But I can't think what's causing it?

  SOLD - Power Commander V for FZ1 2011-15 (includes K&N air filter)
Posted by: Fazafou - 05-09-17, 12:07 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - No Replies

Hi all,

Decided to sell my FZ1 (already found a buyer) and so have stripped off my Power Commander 5 and K&N for sale if anyone is interested.

The K&M might seem unusual to throw in, but I've literally only done around 200 miles with it in and so it's practically brand new with no wear to it, so I thought since a lot of people use PC's to map for K&N's it would make a good package to sell together.  I was in 2 minds to sell the bike and had bought the K&N, but finally decided annoyingly not long after installing it, so a bit of a wasted purchase but just how it goes.

The PC box is a bit tatty (missing the lid) but everything's there except the Dynojet stickers and alcohol wipes - the velcro stickers are attached to the PC unit but the sticky backing is not very effective so I've advertised it as missing.  Otherwise it's in perfect working order.  Comes with the O2 sensor eliminator and instructions for fitting.

  Downshift Blipping
Posted by: Skippernick - 04-09-17, 09:49 PM - Forum: General - Replies (84)

I don't understand why there is a need for downshift blipping either "manually" on our bikes or automatically on varies modern bikes.
Doesn't the engine automatically raise the revs when you downshift anyway to match the bikes speed?
Can someone explain it to me please.

Jack up kit versus dropping the forks.
Posted by: robbo - 04-09-17, 06:54 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (33)

I wondered if anyone knew if there's a direct relationship between the height of a jack up kit as opposed to lowering the front through the yokes. For example would a 25mm jack up have the same effect as say dropping the front 5mm. Thanks in advance.

Will the xjr1300 top yoke fit on my fazer ?
Posted by: AzzA1990 - 03-09-17, 06:13 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (4)

Hi people first of all I'll start by letting you all know that I'm new here and this is my first post! so go easy on me  Big Grin  I'v been browsing the forum for sometime though and every thing I'v wanted to find out i have been able to without posting a new topic so all good!

My question is would anyone happen to know if the xjr1300 top yoke would fit onto the fazer? (2001 5dm boxeye) Reason being is that I'm going for the naked front / streetfighter look what ever it's called now days due to excessive front fairing damage, I'm only wondering if the xjr top yoke will fit because I'm having a little difficulty mounting my speedo, i do have it mounted at the minute but I'm not entirely happy with it and the xjr top yoke has the speedo mounts on which i think i could make good use out of

I have been looking at pictures on eBay and although they look slightly different aesthetically it does look although it'll fit

Many thanks in advance!

  Am I being thick?
Posted by: Fazerider - 03-09-17, 05:57 PM - Forum: General - Replies (13)

I bought a repair kit for tyres with a view to doing a more permanent fix on my rear tyre which picked up a small nail about 300 miles after fitting.
It came with a selection of patches, glue, some mushrooms and spare valves and 5 of these weird things:-

Can someone tell me what they're for?
