  Less Is More..........
Posted by: Andy W - 18-10-17, 02:21 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (11)

I've found my bike too quiet since buying it, despite the can being called Viper.
I don't really like large cans either so I finally got round to shortening it today.
I took about 3" off as a starting point, & also repacked the wadding less tightly.
Sounds not too much different, but more rip when opening the throttle...test ride later today & tomorrow - though I suspect I'll be taking off another 2" pretty soon!  :eek

  the david silver honda collection
Posted by: red98 - 18-10-17, 09:24 AM - Forum: Events, Meets, Ride outs etc - Replies (16)

Day off yesterday so had a day out on the mighty thou and visited david silver in Leiston , Suffolk .

for all you non honda fans David Silver is the man to go to for classic honda parts from the early 60's  to the 90's

he has built up a collection of 150 classic honda's dating from a 1951 dream 'E' type to a 1990 's oval piston NR750 one of approx 30 in the country , suggested that this is the largest private honda collection outside japan.

well worth a visit but it is a little out of the way , approx 20 miles north of felixstowe on the east coast a couple of miles from sizewell....

Tempted to put some Continental TCK80's and go the s
crambler look. Only pic I have at the moment, will take more hopefully tomorrow.

  FZ1-s Fazer for sale
Posted by: malc - 16-10-17, 04:20 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - No Replies

Sadly I have to sell the Fazer, I bought it new in 2009, sold it to a friend 14 months later but always regretted it. Earlier this year I had the chance to buy it back and jumped at it. I've had a great year with it but I now have to sell it to help pay the MT10 I'm buying  Smile

Grey, 2009 model (a proper 09 model year with black engine), 33300 miles, very good condition, full service history and has had valve clearances done. 2 previous owners but as said I was the first owner so it's had 2 owners in total. Givi rack with monolock top plate, crash protectors, heated grips, tail tidy, ventureshield paint protection fitted from new. Good tyres (pr4 rear/pr3 front) The bike is ready to go and doesn't need anything. MOT until mid July 2018.

I can email pictures if you send me a PM, please post the thread if your interested or have any question.

I've thought about the price and I think it's reasonable at £2995 but I will listen to serious offers

Thanks

Posted by: johnakay - 16-10-17, 12:16 PM - Forum: General - Replies (19)

coming up in may(well for me it is)
going on my bike(tracer 700)

this is the 1st time for me since the 70's, I'm going on a 5 day trip to scotland
going with a gang of 11 on our bikes, there will be 2 groups  fast one and slow.
I fit in the latter.
we're meeting some where near glasgow to fort william along the coast to j'ogroats and then to edinborough, home.
each journey is 120 miles staying in a youth hostel at each stop(4).
now the only thing I think I need just incase!
water proofs(if it rains)
under wear,jean and T shirts.
am I missing anything
just waiting  for names of place we're stopping at.
also has anyone done this trip.
