WANTED: BLACK Handlebar Clamp/Risers (from FZS 600 or FZ1 1000)
Posted by: F4celess - 16-10-17, 11:18 AM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (1)

As per title, looking for a set of standard handlebar clamp/risers, must be Black. To fit standard 22mm 7/8 bars.
Really looking for a set in mint condition.  8)

Is the mounting Bolt that is visible removable on these? So I could fit shorter bolt, for my FZS, or its a fixed "stud" that cant be removed?:

Cheers.

High winds forecast for tonight, make sure your bike is secure if it's left outside, led to believe bikes with covers over them are more likely to be blown over.

  Gilles Levers For MT09 Tracer
Posted by: Grayo - 15-10-17, 06:44 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (1)

As the Tracer is going next week, I have for sale a set of black Gilles levers. They are in excellent condition, have red 32 point adjusters and come with all the original packaging and paperwork. These cost nearly £200 new. I'm looking for £80 the pair with free signed for postage.

Just a timely reminder for anyone that isn't aware, you have until midnight tonight (15/10/2017) to spend the old, round £1 coins in the shops etc...although I have heard that selected retailers will continue taking them for a short period after at their discretion.

After this they have to go to the bank for deposit/exchange.

  Nice Hotel near Calais
Posted by: Simon.Pieman - 14-10-17, 05:42 PM - Forum: General - Replies (5)

Am riding up from Tours to Calais in November and then on to a ferry to UK. I can probably do that in one hit but if the wearther is rotten I'll probably get a hotel near Calais and cross the next morning. Can anyone reccomend a good one near enough to the port? I usually use the Ibis just out of town but fancy a different one this time preferably near a nice bar/restaurant. Secure parking of course.

  Hi Everyone

Hi,
A quick intro lol.
I'm a PCV Driving Instructor / CPC Trainer in Kent.  Been L Plating on and off since 1990, necer seemed to get round to passing my test!! Hopefully getting DAS done before Christmas.
I was given a 51 Plate FZS 600 Fazer, knackered Clutch Basket and Push Rod (God only knows what he was trying to do!!), hasn't been run for 3 years, just sat under a lean to in his garden, slowly buying and fitting parts to it.  Hoping to have the engine started (fingers crossed!) in the next month!
It's now my project for when I get my test passed.
Looking forward to getting to know you all and hopefully when I'm on the road on it, meeting some of you as well!!

  Hateful 8
Posted by: cy8rm4n - 14-10-17, 12:43 PM - Forum: Fazer 8 / FZ8 - Replies (16)

I'm new here having just put down deposit on a Fazer 8. Well not strictly true, I did mull around here when I had a 2000 carbed 600 Fazer & then again a 2006 FZ6 Fazer about 5 years ago.

I resurrected my profile from back then & onto this section of the forum. First I'm surprised how quiet it is. I know Yamaha discontinued the bikes in large part due to poor sales but how many FZ8s & Fazer 8s are actually out there?

The good thing about it being so quiet is I've been able to read through all the previous posts quite easily. I'm really surprised at all the haters of the 8 series. I know the likes of MCN weren't overly keen on the bike but all they could really say negative was the original retail price was too high & non adjustable forks were bad. It seems even to the 600 & 1000 foccers that the 8s are the embarrassing relations you don't invite to the family events in case they show you up.

I was in the showroom with no thoughts of returning to Fazerdom when the lovely 2013 in black caught my eye as a damn good looking bike. When I realised it was a Fazer then my fondness for that marque came flooding back. They had an FZ1 in stock as well but I fancied a bit fairing after a few years on naked Triumphs & I don't think the extra hp will be any use to me in the real world other than as a licence loser when my mate on his ZZR 1400 opens up.

I note that actual owners of the 8 seem to have little negative to say about them, so why all the hatred?
