  Fazer 1000 for sale
Posted by: JOE - 22-10-17, 05:18 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (26)

Due to my father in law making an offer for me to buy his FZ1 that I can't refuse, I am now selling my fazer 1000.  It runs well, but cosmetically isn't prefect.  Crack and small hole in the right hand side inner fairing inserts, scrape to right hand fairing and headlight and very small chip in the tank paint where the previous owner dropped it. Left hand crank case discoloured from small fuel spillage during carb removal for Ivanising. (should be visible in the photos).  There is also no cover over the exup valve bolts - all works fine though as Mike found no issues with it's function when Ivanising.

Specs:
40k on clock
flip up brake and clutch levers
full monty Ivans kit fitted by Mike in August
aftermarket can (obviously) - standard will also come with the bike
aftermarket rack (standard grab handles will also come with the bike)
clutch friction plates and springs just replaced with EBC heavy duty items (oil and filter done at the same time)
valves done at 28k
rear tyre has only done a couple of hundred miles max
will be MOT'd prior to sale

Was thinking of £1600 for anyone on here (will be advertising for a bit more elsewhere)

  Hole in crank cases?
Posted by: Drezza - 21-10-17, 10:58 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (3)

I'm trying to get my crashed Fazer back on the road, the right side of the crank cases have cracked where the starter clutch cover bolt goes. Will it leak oil from the starter clutch area? If oil is not supplied to this area I guess I can just use something like JB weld?

Edit: you can see the cracked crankcases at the bottom left of the starter clutch cover.

Performance issue( missing at 5,000 RPM)
Posted by: Mr Juju - 21-10-17, 02:21 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (5)

Hi All, I have a very irritating misfire or carb issue most evident at about 5,000 RPM in top gear (around 60 mph) . If I try and change down to blast past it it doesn't work. It's like riding a restricted bike!! Please help. So far I have tried replacing the fuel tank breather hoses and changed the plugs but no good. Oh and I seem to be down around 50 miles on a tank of fuel. Please can anyone suggest what my next best move could be? Many thanks! Smile

No Longer available - Left hand FZS 600 mirror
Posted by: HarryHornby - 21-10-17, 09:09 AM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (1)

Hi Guys,

I sourced my right hand mirror from a jolly nice chap on here but it came as a pair so I have a left hand mirror going spare.  It's been used and has light scratchs on the front plastic, but nothing bad, the mirror itself is in great nick.

I have no use for it so in the spirit of FOC-U I'm happy to pass it on to someone who needs it for the cost of postage.

Please only respond if you need it, not if you are thinking of selling on to make a few quid.  :thumbup

Back on the air again, 5 days after that bitch Ophelia  :finger hit, we have seen the light  :woot
Power went out at 11am Monday when 2 hours of sustained 110KPH (70MPH) winds took out the main 10Kv line supplying the whole valley south of Cork Airport.
After much fault chasing by the Electrical supply linesmen and 7 faults later they finally fixed the last fault that had our power out.  :thumbup

Still hundreds of homes east of us still without power.

Glad I wired the house for a generator 4 years ago now,  Smile at least I had light and water and the freezer was maintained to save all the  food in it..
The unfortunate side of living in the country is that the lovely pure clean water we have, comes straight out of the ground 35 metres (110feet) down and the 1 KW submersible pump was pushing the 3KVA generator hard on start up.
Must buy a bigger avr equipped generator with  to allow us use the other bits we would like to have working like heat and Internet Smile

Another Shorty on a Fazer (exhaust that is)
Posted by: F4celess - 20-10-17, 03:01 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (11)

Now in possession of a new Carbon fibre / Titanium 230mm exhaust - GP Style. From Black Widow.
To replace the standard 500mm Yamaha bazooka! :eek Should see (and hear) quite an improvement!

The 230mm Titanium is not as "fat" at the 200mm Shorty (I inspected both side by side). Slimmer, but a fraction longer.

The weight difference however between the two is substantial. The 200 is a good deal heavier, being stainless steel, compared to the lighter Titanium (0.95kg).
I understand its going to sound roughly as loud as the 200, having approx the same internal cubic area. Also fitted with removable DB Killer. :evil

The Slash tip I'm told can develop that 'titanium burnt blue' colour, which is infact due to a chemical reaction between the exhaust gases/titanium.
(compared to 'unnamed' exhaust cans that have been artificially coloured to simulate that look). Pointless fun fact.
