  47 BHP Throttle Restrictor?
Posted by: NolanNorth - 29-11-17, 08:40 PM - Forum: FZ6 / Fazer - Replies (21)

Hi guys,

I'm new here as I've been looking at buying a FZ6 (2008) . I've seen multiple threads in other places talking about 33bhp restrictors but can't for the life of me find anywhere that can do a 47bhp restriction on an FZ6. This is for the UK on an A2 license. I assumed since it has been done to 33bhp before it would be easy to restrict down to 47. If anyone has any experience with restricting down to comply with A2 license regulations in the Uk then please let me know!

This is the only thing I've found and I can't tell if it's a throttle restrictor or not.

I have emailed the company but they are taking their sweet time getting back to me.

Thanks

FZ6 s fazer sourcing of parts
Posted by: Kendo Nagasaki - 28-11-17, 07:56 PM - Forum: General - Replies (1)

Hello everyone,
I'm after a bit of help trying to source new parts for my 2005 FZ6. Had a near miss with a JCB on a major A road that did not have any rear lights on it, fortunately I did not hit it but managed ditch the bike saving a head on collision with the rear of it. Now I need to source most front end and right hand side plastics but looking at the price of these components I am struggling to justify a repair which is a shame as the bike has just under 7,000 miles on it.
So far I have managed to source a front screen, rear grab handles, full set of indicators, parts I'm struggling with is the main front cowling, headlight, rear right hand side cowling, inner front right hand cowling. Parts from the USA are coming in vastly cheaper than here in the uk although I would like to see what people on here have to say about sourcing parts here in the UK.
Cheers

  My Rat Fighter
Posted by: Jimmy2wheels - 26-11-17, 03:20 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (5)

Thought I’d start a thread for my fazer modification.

I’ve ridden my silver fazer around for a year and have decided to doing something with it. I want to shorten the seat, so it’s a single seat. Removing the rear pegs. Change the front to twin headlights with a small screen. Paint it all military green. So it looks like a streetfighter, chop, rat bike of some sort.

At the moment, I’ve jacked the rear by 25mm and removed the rear mudguard.

I want to changed the front next. Anyone done a good job of this with a picture?

Cheers guys.

  Wurth Dry Chain Lube
Posted by: pezos - 25-11-17, 10:54 PM - Forum: FZS600 - Replies (1)

Hello again,

as a new FZS owner, I have decided to try the Wurth Dry chain lube. Trouble is there are no useful instructions on it as to when to replenish the application. Does anyone have any information on this. 500miles, 1000 miles, after a downpour etc.

I have no prior experience of this stuff so all help gratefully received. Thanks.

  BMW rear shock preload

Hi all, managed to purchase a brand new BMW S1000RR rear shock for my gen 1 thou, had a new top bush machined rather than go with the spacers & set every thing midway as a starting point. My question is how much thread on the preload should be showing? again, as a starting point. Cheers.

Recommended Suppliers of FZ6s Fazer bits
Posted by: Kendo Nagasaki - 23-11-17, 06:33 PM - Forum: FZ6 / Fazer - Replies (4)

Hello everyone,
It's my first post on here so after a little assistance if possible.
Having recently had a slight mishap with my beloved FZ6s (2005 model with 6k on it) some daft bugger thought it was a good idea to drive a JCB with no rear lights down the A19 on a wet very dark morning. Seeing the JCB at the last moment I ditched the bike on the floor not wanting to hit the JCB now I am trying to source quite a few bits and I am struggling to find reasonably priced components to repair the bike. Looking on eBay is very hit and miss although I have found the price of new OEM components on US web sites better priced than here in the UK or in Europe.
Can any one point me in the right direction of where to buy here in the uk?
I'm after a main front cowling, screen, RH inner panel, RH outer panel, foot pegs rider and pillion, indicators, RH mirror, fuel tank, break leaver, RH bar end, headlight to name but a few of the parts.
Thanks in advance.
