What are my rear shock options ? |

So...my rear shock is done.
I did kebab's front forks modification (emulators) and now the front end is like new, but it highlighted the problem I've been suspecting - the rear shock needs to be changed.
All I'm finding on the internet is the YSS Z-series monoshock: http://www.wemoto.com/bikes/yamaha/fzs_6...monoshock/ which is not particularly cheap (can be found on ebay for less).
Are there any other worthy options to consider ?
Thanks

HI there! Must be the time of year or something...
Anyhoo, it's time to let my Fazer 600[smg id=3048 type=preview align=center caption="Faz2"][smg id=3049 type=preview align=center caption="Faz1"] go, it's had an exciting life, commuting from home to London every day for the last 6 years and the occasional track day, advanced rider test thrown in!
It's got about 82,000 miles on the clock, engine is sound as a pound, regular oil and filter changes carried out by yours truly since 2011. It was in the shop at 60,000 miles and had the valve clearances done, no adjustment required. The bottom of the rear shock bearing has been changed as it was getting worn, new front wheel bearings fitted also. It's got heated grips and a data tool alarm. Back tyre's good, front has a 1000 miles or so left in it.
What it needs: The front brake discs are getting a bit worn and will also need new pads.
MOT's till January. Other then the discs it will pass another MOT (IMO)
Anyway, £500 or nearest offer, buyer collects, I'll give it a wash...

Loose front right foot peg. |

Hi Foccers,
The front right foot peg on my 98 Boxeye is loose, i.e. it rotates rather than wobbles up and down.
I’m sure I read somewhere that this is quite common. Is it ? Is it an easy fix if not ... or a likely MOT failure ?
Thanks in advance,
Matt

Airbox removal |

What am I missing? How do you get the airbox out of the way on a gen1 to work on the carbs??????? I've got tank (including rear bracket) off, side covers off, airbox sides off, airbox lid off, battery out, as many screws and bolts and hoses as I can find undone. I've the airbox loose off the carbs but can't see how to remove it completely from the bike. Do you have to separate the front and rear parts of the airbox, if so how do you get at the screws? Shop manual says drain the coolant; why???
