For sale : Front brake discs Gen1 1000
Posted by: shrekster - 26-04-18, 11:56 AM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (3)

I have for sale a pair of front brake discs for a Gen1 1000. Made by Metal Gear, an Australian company, I bought them a few years ago and only used them for about 4-500 miles before I sold the bike. They have been stored in their boxes and are in near new condition, I have taken some pics to give an idea of condition.
They will need thoroughly degrease before use.
£100 including postage in the UK. No offers please.

GoKarts / offroad buggys - where could i use it "legally" ?
Posted by: focced_off - 25-04-18, 05:34 PM - Forum: General - Replies (5)

Hi guys,

I've been interested in buying a GoKart / offroad buggy for some time, something to play with, also for the educational / mechanical interest.
I don't own a field I could use it in, so what other options / locations are there??

I'm at the top of the M25, so somewhere reasonably close, however would be happy to 'cart it around' (pun intended) if needs be on a trailer.  Smile

  Bar end weights
Posted by: Triggergee - 25-04-18, 07:49 AM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (29)

Hi just wondering if anyone has any advise on this subject. I've just removed bent Renthal bars and replaced with the same (Renthal 755) new bars so now need to fit the end weights and as some of you probably know renthals don't come with threaded ends.

The old bars had the very heavy 307g original Fazer 1000 threaded weights in which seemed to've kept vibrations to a minimum although as the bikes new to me I have no frame of reference.

As I don't have a tap and die set big enough to thread the new bars my options seem to be either £41 for a tap and die set so I can use the old weights or £26 for these which are heavier than many others at 130g but less than half that of the oem ones

So if I go with the cheaper, quicker and better looking option with the R&G weights am I likely to feel more vibrations through the bars?

Idle adjuster not working after carb balance
Posted by: Stevo1 - 24-04-18, 08:28 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (3)

Hope someone on here can help me with this one. Balancing my carbs last night I ran into a problem. 1 & 2 were pretty well balanced, 3 & 4 were out slighty so I balanced those up. When I checked both sides together it was off. However, when I adjusted the middle screw to level up both sides the revs dropped (up or down - cant recall). I went on to adjust the idle adjuster to compensate and nothing happened. It is neither raising or lowering the revs. I can guarantee the adjuster was working the day before. Is it possible that the middle adjuster has affected the operation of the idle screw adjustment as in it has it pulled it away from adjustment paddle? The idle adjuster is not seized as I can see it turning under the carbs. Gonna give it another shot this evening after work. Advice greatly appreciated

  Satan’s 666 FZ1 shock adaptor
Posted by: Mustang - 23-04-18, 08:04 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (4)

I’ve bought a used adaptor and 07 R1 shock off of FZ10 USA forum. Arrived last week, fitted up in about 10 minutes . Took it for a test ride today, it’s taller at the rear, about 3/4” more better ride quality. I’m riding at Donington tomorrow, shame it probably gonna be damp.

  WTB Header clamps for FZS600
Posted by: GhostCat - 22-04-18, 01:14 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - No Replies

I am hoping someone has some old exhaust headers lying around, I need to replace a missing header clamp, hoping to source two clamps if possible but one is great.
