  R6 shock for FZS600 conversion.
Posted by: noggythenog - 29-09-18, 01:46 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - No Replies

The dog bones & the collar are prototypes made by Kebab who pioneered them on the 600. As such are tarnished & he provided me smaller nuts (ahem) to compensate for thickness of the bones otherwise get some made up from projection components.

All the info is on the Foc-U forum.
Thanks To Kebab for the stuff but I’ll probably end up with more of a party piece bike next year so will be a waste to fit this now.

I want 175 earth pounds for it (posted) which is a fair price.

Cheers??

  Making sliders
Posted by: agricola - 27-09-18, 08:19 PM - Forum: General - Replies (10)

Decent day out at Donny Park Monday. Im 99% sure that I was the only bloke that rode his bike there and didnt have tyre warmers, but never mind, no less enjoyable. Was only when i checked the bike over next day and saw the worn footrest, then spotted that it had worn so much that it allowed the fairing to then contact the track, resulting in wearing a hole in it. Priced up OEm for the footrests, jeez, thtas just not worth it. Spotted these so gonna get 2 sets.

For the fairing, Ive ordered a sheet of this, and Im gonna make up some nice sliders to cover the worn areas, held on with countersunk screws and nuts, so I can change em when they wear and before they get worn through to the fairing. 5mm thick sheet

Posted by: Frosties - 27-09-18, 11:04 AM - Forum: General - Replies (55)

Hiya all,

Right then, i've always fancied a rag top and now seems to be the right time to buy. Trouble is I cant decide which one.

Any advice/experiences much appreciated or even just a poll tick.

This is right up Tommy's street but unlike Tomski the choices are not hair dressers coming out cars  Big Grin .

Below is the links to both cars and any gay shouts are fully expected  :lol

  Exup valve/headers
Posted by: stevierst - 26-09-18, 10:56 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - No Replies

wanted, an exup setup for my gen 1 which has for some unknown reason has had it removed!

If you’ve got an old set of headers with a siezed valve, or one knocking around, there’s cash waiting!
I’m an old engineer, so I can resurrect most things made of metal!

  What colour is my frame?
Posted by: Grahamm - 26-09-18, 12:49 PM - Forum: General - Replies (2)

I have the FZ6-SA 2006 registration which has some rust on the frame.
I want to clean this up and re-paint it, but the only information I can find on the colours for my bike is that it's Yamaha DNMB (diamond black) and the tank is BS4 (bluish silver)
The tank isn't the same colour as the frame (which is a more silvery silver, without the blue), so can anyone tell me what colour I need to get for this?

  Flat Battery Puzzle
Posted by: TOM VR46 - 25-09-18, 06:34 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (8)

Saturday morning about 4am, finished work , onto bike , flat battery. So bump start. Took a couple of attempts but she started. Then two miles in journey , she just died slowly and wouldn't start . So call out and lift home. Took battery of and straight on charger with it.
Later on Saturday , checked as much of wiring as I could , didn't find anything, so battery back on,,,, and started. Charging ok, up to 14v on quick blip of throttle. Let her run and played with wiring to see if any change in meter readings. No change. Took her for short run , still no change.
So Sunday, checked battery to see if there had been any drop overnight, none , still reading 12.8v. Started and still charging ok. So off for a run, with everything on, Lights including spots, heated grips. She ran as usual and when I stopped was reading at just over 13v.
So Monday. Off to work, night driver. She sits out all night. And still charged.
My first thought was stator gone, the way she died on Saturday, but has been charging ok since that.
Any thoughts welcome as RAC might charge me if it happens again. OH might not get back on here for few days due to work.
