Green fuel
Posted by: Hugh Jass - 16-11-18, 01:30 PM - Forum: General - Replies (13)

So my Fazer sits by the side of the house doing nothing.
It's tatty and only gets a few rides a year. I think I last put some fuel in it in July or something like that.I needed to go out yesterday and the wife had left the lights on in the car and it had a flat battery.
So I went up to the bike and it started up first thing! I know I haven't toutched it since August. But on riding off it was sluggish and didn't want to ride. Then the more I rode it it seemed to get better, but if I accelerated hard it felt like it was running out of fuel.
So I am figureing it needs a carb clean, but I shone a light in the fuel tank and the fuel was green! Not a tinge of green, no! It looked more like limeade or something, it's bright increadable hulk green!!! I can see through it, but it does look bright green.
What the hell is in modern fuel that it goes green like that? Can petrol go mouldy?

  Rider down

Got cut up this morning. Managed to avoid hitting the van but mounted the kerb and damaged the front wheel, the rear too but that's useable. Cant find a front ABS wheel anywhere, does anyone know if a wheel from something else will fit?

  one for the older bikers..
Posted by: ogri48 - 14-11-18, 09:02 PM - Forum: General - Replies (40)

one of the fellers on the cb1300 forum has painted his bike like a silver cbx1000. apparently hunts had four done from new by dream machine paint in derby, two in red, two in silver. The reds lovely too, but the silver works best for moi...more akin to the first naked one that came out. I love the standard red/white paint on mine, but if I could afford it, I'd have the silver jobbie..

  Ignition advancer Gen1 ?
Posted by: ProdigalSon - 14-11-18, 01:42 AM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (9)

I've seen people make mention of a 4 degree ignition advancer, is it worth fitting one of these and f so are they hard to fit? My bike is fitted with an Ivans Full Monty kit and Remus can.

2006 FZS1000, all of the good mods
Posted by: ianh - 13-11-18, 06:05 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (12)

Hi all.
Looking to sell my Fazer as it just isn't getting the use it deserves.
Bought it from the site near 2 yrs ago, from a guy who had it fully Ivanized and fitted the various other mods everyone agrees make the bike the best it can be.
I am including the rear mounting frame for a Givi Monokey box ( I currently use a Givi V45, which I will use on my next bike)
There is a colour coded Bagster tank cover shown, which is also available separately for £35 if sold with the bike.
The tank beneath is unmarked.
The bike is in excellent condition and has had regular oil changes.
The latest was May 2017, after which I have done barely 500 miles.
MOT history is excellent and there were no advisories when completed in June.
The paint scheme is a rare combination and really sets off the bike, along with the gold wheels.
I've written down all of the extras, so feel free to look and ask for more info.
Added to the spec list are some 1.5" handlebar risers and a colour coded belly pan.

Looking for £2450 ovno

Yamaha FZ1 Fazer (Gen.2) MRA dark tint double bubble screen
Posted by: ProdigalSon - 11-11-18, 09:51 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - No Replies

I have for sale an MRA dark tint double bubble screen for a 2006> Yamaha FZ1 Fazer, some very minor marks, as can be seen someone mounted this incorrectly and the tint has rubbed away at two points (I shall endeavour to touch these in, the screen itself is tinted it's just a paint on tint to darken the base), one very tiny chip in it, but overall in excellent condition and a cheap screen for someone £30.00 inc. p&p

  Brand new Beowulf stainless link pipe for Yamaha FZS1000 (2001 - 2005) - £30.00
Posted by: ProdigalSon - 11-11-18, 05:31 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - No Replies

Brand new Beowulf stainless steel link pipe for Gen.1 (2001 - 2005) Yamaha Fazer 1000. 51 mm exit so will fit a large variety of after market slip on exhausts. This came with a slip on exhaust that I bought but I used the existing link pipe. If you go on the Beowulf website you can see how these look when fitted to the bike. These are £53 new but this was specially made with the spring hooks on it so a variety of slip on cans can be used. 51 mm exit which fits a lot of after market exhausts but please measure yours first.
£30.00 inc. p&p
