  Old measuring equipment
Posted by: His Dudeness - 18-03-19, 01:14 AM - Forum: General - Replies (21)

I'd like to get some measuring equipment for using on bike engines. There's a lot of old used Mitutoyo micrometers and the likes for sale on ebay. My question for anyone who's experienced using measuring equipment is, would it be a waste of money buying old measuring equipment since you don't know how well it's been looked after or does good quality measuring equipment generally stay in spec? I was thinking about buying an old set of micrometers and then getting them checked with slip gauges. Is that a waste of money? Do you need new ones for checking engines?

Wow! 6 out of 6,I am a big big fan of Johny Rea,but what a performance from Bautista! he not only won all his races,he demolished the field. You could argue he's got the perfect package from the off but even so he's not the only rider on a V4 Ducati, maybe after all there is a major difference in ability from Moto GP even down field. We'll see what happens when they come to Europe,it may be a speed differential as Rea,Lowes, etc are saying, but if it ain't we could be looking at the biggest whitewash since all the factories pulled out and left Agostini to breeze away to a few unchallenged world titles. :eek

  TPO - AIS Removal Kit
Posted by: old son - 17-03-19, 09:27 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (11)

I've got one of these kits. You have to remove the stubs in the head just above the exhaust manifold. Has anybody ever removed these stubs and if you have how did you do it and how hard was it?

I know I can put some bolts in and I know I can buy the caps but I want to investigate this first.
Anybody help please?

How can I make the FZ6 clutch less snatchy?
Posted by: Grahamm - 17-03-19, 01:12 PM - Forum: FZ6 / Fazer - Replies (7)

I've posted this on the FB forum too, but for anyone who doesn't read that...
Does anyone know a way of making the FZ6's clutch less "snatchy"?
I don't know why, but I'm starting to find it harder to make a smooth pull-away or shift between first and second Sad

  Coil pack uprgade?
Posted by: JBee - 17-03-19, 12:41 AM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - No Replies

Just wondering if anyone has done an upgrade to coils packs on the plugs?

Don't know if it's even possible, space wise or whatever, but I have to check my coils to try and trace why number 2 isn't firing
and thought it would update the electrical system.

  A debate section
Posted by: Dudeofrude - 16-03-19, 10:28 PM - Forum: Your Suggestions and How you can help - Replies (24)

I'm thinking it might be wise for the admin to add a section for these debate type threads that keep cropping up. They are starting to take over slightly and the actual bike elements of the forum are getting lost amoung them.
At least if they are all together in one place then people know exactly what to expect in that particular section of the forum.
I personally don't bother with then as I feel they are more a ground for argument then actual sensible debate but there is no denying they can turn into a bit topic so there needs to be a place for them

Also I honestly think they need moderating as the insults are starting to lean towards personal attack.
There is no problem 'debating' a subject but once it comes to personal jibes I think that's going slightly too far.
At the end of the day we are all here for the things we have in common not our political views, we need to make sure it stays friendly ??
