Have been keeping an eye on the weather for the northern section of Scotland, above Inverness, for the last week, and it's quite good, or dry at least. After a rushed couple of days getting stuff together, I set off this morning at 4am, taking an hour to get to the A1, catching almost every red traffic light. Good job I put the liner back in my jacket, shame I hadn't included my heated glove wiring, as it was quite cold.
It soon became apparent that most of the roadside caffs that I used to use, are now gone, so it's Costa,KFC,Burger King etc, or nothing. With just under 170 miles on the trip I had to settle for a toasted sandwich and coffee, surrounded by a coachload of screaming kids.
With me and the bike fuelled up, the day took on a rosier glow, and was soon past Scotch Corner preparing to take the A68 via Jedburgh to Edinburgh. What a hoot this road turned out to be. It was a 40 odd mile long roller coaster. Petrol became an issue, and although there's a "last English caff", there's not a "last English petrol station". I rolled into the Jedburgh Shell station with 193.8 on the trip. Gassed up, I headed for South Queensgate to get some pics of the bridges, then on to Stirling to pick up the A811 which took me to the southern end of Loch Lomond and my campsite for the night. No pub unfortunately, or rather, can't be arsed with the long walk to the village pub. Will no doubt sleep well tonight without the aid of a few beers. Found the campsite first time, well almost, as blasted past the access road due to poor signage :lol . Got checked in and the tent up by around 3.30pm, with 477 miles on the trip. I've earned a pint and can't get one. :'(

Need advice please
Have any of you ordered the individual clutch plates from Fowlers? If so did you order all the are all the plates shown on the diagram or have they bunched variations on the one diagram for all models and it is up to the buyer to decipher which they need?
I've also looked on the part manual under foc-u downloads but that doesn't fully help answer
cheers

hi all I am new to this site and after some advice/help please. I am looking at an fzs1000 for sale. It cannot be confirmed by the owner if it has had its 24000 mile service which means it will need to be done. It’s just done 24000 miles and is up for £2400 with history (allegedly). Firstly is it worth the money, it’s in nice condition, secondly can anyone help me with the service as I know it’s a big one, thanks in advance?

Just seen in the news police are looking at introducing "acoustic cameras" to catch loud exhausts. I assume it is a mic attached to a camera to get your sound levels and then trigger a camera for your numberplate.

Hi fellow fazer owners! Had mine for a year now, what a great first bike.
Done loads to mine over the last year but so much still on the to do list. Interested to see what others have done/ recommended upgrades.
So far I’ve had total drive loss at a hairy speed on the motorway but didn’t die, hurrah! Front sprocket nut fail as seems to be the norm. Thread stripped so new (ebay) engine went in.
Hate the look of the seat, attriactivess rating = sanitary towel. I’ve done a custom job on mine, not the best but vastly improved!
Carbs balanced, new battery, fuel pump, new tyre, rims resprayed and taped, new coils, leads, sparks, engine repainted, new levers, gel grips. Oh and lowered 50mm on dog bones for my short arse :b
Lots more to do, but an absolute joy to ride. Hope I’m now into the purely cosmetic stuff! Anyone got a good clutch cable replacement video/manual?
Also, I’ve ridden two different engines now and they were both really whiny in 3rd, I take it that is just a Fazer thing? May look at suspension in future, standard seems to be like a puddle jumper
Looking forward to learning more on the forum!
