TFT Dash for the Fazer 1000 / FZ1
Posted by: DJDLTD - 09-08-19, 01:51 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (171)

Hi all,

I love my FZ1 too much so for a little while I've been working on a TFT Dashboard for it. The stock clocks on the FZ1 really could do with an upgrade. Here's a screenshot of the TFT Dash in the 'blue' theme. (The Dash has multiple colour themes you can choose from).

The bike interface hardware has now come along quite nicely in the past few weeks, and I've just sent off for my production PCBs so I can start making a few of these.

To see my prototype in action on the bike here's a video: (The video shows the display in it's default theme with a white background - daytime mode)

A few things still need to be sorted like:
- Mounting options for the display, ideally these need to mount perfectly onto the stock bracket.
- Mounting positions for the bike interface. It is plug and play so no modification to the bikes wiring is needed. Just unplug your clocks, and plug in the TFT Dash interface.
- Software needs a little bit more tweaking.

Any info or questions, let me know.

Cheers.

I know ive already got one, what can I say.
I foccing love the bikes. And I cannot get my head around paying five or six times the two grand my bike cost me for a brand new bike, which I wont like as much as a thou, in all probability.
Gonna spend all winter looking for a minter to keep alongside the old faithful.
Anybody here who has such a machine please hit me up.

After leaving the I.O.M. with the title of the worlds' fastest road race,Peter Hickman has now left it in the emerald isle at a blistering 136mph at the ulster GP!!! Most of us would never reach that speed let alone average it,can't get my head around it TBH. :eek

  Bautista to Honda

Looks like there'll be a vacancy in the Ducati garage as Alvaro is likely to turn down his new Ducati contract. Honda are throwing their weight behind a WSB campaign next season, and Alvaro looks like he's going to be the main man. Jack hasn't got a deal for next year yet, but can't see him fancying that somehow. Maybe Scott would enjoy being on the road again. I'm pretty sure Haslam's only on a 1 year deal, and that spot could be Topraks next year. The merry go round begins.

  Rear wheel alignment
Posted by: Ricky - 06-08-19, 11:28 AM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (6)

Having tightened my chain the other day I was wondering how accurate the swing arm chain markings are? There seems to me to be to many variables with the manufacturer and welding etc for the markings to be accurate.
Having looked on line for a tool to check for  wheel alignment l was surprised by how many and how different there  are out there. The laser tool looks like the best, but at around £70 it is out of my price range.  l did find tools around £5 , but not sure if they work ,soIs it worth the bother of even buying a tool? Are the alignment marks close enough not to worry about it.Is there  a simple and easy option to check alignment.Does the wheel being slightly being out of alignment really matter?

  Seat height
Posted by: Hoodie - 05-08-19, 07:40 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (3)

Hi....I've an 02 foxeye that had a non standard seat when I got it. I'm trying to find out if it's lower than standard. If I sit a straight edge along the pillion seat the drop to the riders seat is 5". Can anyone tell me if that is lower than standard? I'looking for options to reduce the bend in my knees.
Thanks in advance.
