  Confuzzled and moderately concerned

Got in from work and found a brown envelope waiting for me with a return postcode printed on the back and nowt else.
Opened it up and it was a V5 for Bumblebee from the DVLA.

What's confusing me is I've got the original sitting in the document wallet that came with the bike.
:deal
So, are the DVLA randomly sending out duplicate V5's or is something more sinister afoot with someone trying to register 'Bee elsewhere?

Before any other foccer says it, I'm assuming that no, they haven't seen her yet!!

  After Market Exhaust/EXUP valve
Posted by: FazerFZ1NBlack - 13-11-11, 10:08 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - No Replies

A little advice please.  Smile

I have a 2009 model FZ1N and have bought a spotless Micron carbon can for it for a lot less than a new branded one.  Looking at the exhaust as is I have noticed a 'unit' on the pipe 6 inches or so from the back of the standard can; (hides face in shame) is this the exup valve and if not what is it??!  :rolleyes  There are 2 narrow pipes coming from it heading north and towards the engine.

How do I go about fitting the 'new' can (which was from a FZ1)?  Thanks for any advice and education you can give me!

** Well not one person seems to know; are the 35 who read this message all running standard cans??!  FYI it does appear to be the EXUP valve according to a mechanic I spoke to.

  That's my girl!

Had a call from my 16 year old daughter at 2.30 on Wednesday to tell me she'd come off her ped. A couple came out of their house to help her, took her and the bike in, cup of hot chocolate later and she told them she had a test at college and needed to get there. The lady took her in to college, she sat the test, got the bus home.....then called me!

Thankfully she wasn't hurt but was very worried I'd be cross. As you can imagine, the overwhelming emotion on my part was great relief. Turns out she'd gone into a corner a bit fast, saw the car and braked while she was already lent over to keep on her side of the road. Road was wet and a service the previous day ment the brakes were a bit fierce. She parted company with the bike which then hit the on coming car. There was very little damage to her ped as the top box rack was what hit the car. Unfortunately, it hit a Merc and damaged the wing, wheel and door.

She's called the insurance company, sourced the parts and spent all day repairing it, took flowers to the lady she hit and the one who helped her and booked extra shifts at work to pay for it.

What a star Smile

Finally got bike back together. She started, sounded a bit rough. I thought must need a bit of a run....... Dont mistake fuel problem for timing problem I said to myself but carried on! Only later when oil was coming out of the exhaust drain hole did I think somethings not right. Ah well, hole in no 4 piston, start again. Note to self- double double check timing....

  Gear shifter lever mod
Posted by: karlo - 13-11-11, 06:55 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (8)

Just want to check this lever is right before I proceed as the throw on the lever is different to the original

both levers compared

Lever in foreground is the (2010) R1 lever, background is the original fazer lever, when the R1 lever is fitted the linkage rod sits against the corner of the frame.

So does this look like everyone else's before any frame/rod modification?
