Halvarssons gear - rate or slate?
Posted by: fazed600 - 29-11-11, 08:33 PM - Forum: General - Replies (12)

I'm thinking about getting some new textile kit for winter. Read in Ride magazine that Halvarssons Spartacus jacket and Zen trousers came out top in a recent test. Saw the kit at the NEC last week and was impressed.
Before splashing out £550 on this 'budget' set does anyone have any long term experience with Halvarssons kit?

Hi Everyone,

I plan to take my Fazer 600 off the road for 2 or 3 months, as of tomorrow. Not because I mind riding in the winter (I have a CBF125 for that), but because I have a list of things I want to do. I bought the bike 5 or so months ago, in OK condition. She needs a bit of TLC though, and winter is a perfect time for me.

I have made a list of what needs doing, and my budget is only £200 (+/- 10%). I will do all of the work myself, with a bit of help from a mate (when needed) who is a mechanic.

I am not including the cost of any additional tools I may need, although I doubt there will be any. Also, I already have some of the stuff required, and will not include the cost of that either. I have not included an air filter in my service either, as I fitted a K & N within a few days of getting the bike.

Winter Work on Frazer

Braided Brake Hoses (Full Set F/R)/ Brake Fluid Change

Calliper Re-Condition/Seals

Wheel Alignment

Spark Plugs

Oil Change (Already have it)

Engine Re-Paint

Philips MotoVision Headlamp Bulbs (Both)

Heated Grips

Clean Inside Lamp Reflector

Investigate Tapping Noise from Engine

Clean Carburettors

Remove old alarm and fit new alarm with remote start

Fit GPS holder with 12V Auxiliary socket (Already have GPS holder)

Genesis Performance Chip (Already have it)

It might seem ambitious on just a £200 budget, but I recon it is possible.

I will keep you all posted on progress and tell you where I got the stuff from as I go. If any of you have experience of any of these jobs and have some advice, great. It all helps.

Cheers

  Hello

Hello All,

Joined the site a few days ago. Just realised I should put up a post here. I live in Glasgow and benefit from the amazing roads around the West Coast of Scotland. If you heve never had your bike up this way, you definetly should. If the weather was better, it would easily be as good as riding mainland Europe.
Anyways, I have had a Fazer 600 for about 6 months now. 2000 model is OK condition. I have planned to take her off the road from Demcember 1st and have a list of jobs to do on her.
I will post the list and my budget, and keep you all posted on my progress.

Ride safe

Wink

Hi,
Has anyone swapped a FZS600 Mk1 fairing for the Mk2 version? Is it fairly straight forward or are they massively different in the way they mount to the bike??
Just wondered...... :rollin

Black 2002 Fazer 600 for sale
Posted by: NeilMcG - 29-11-11, 02:05 AM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (1)

Black 2002 Fazer 600 for sale.

£800
c.70k miles
Alarm
Renntec rack
6 months tax
5 months MOT
Collection only from SE19, London.

Bike has been well used and has minor scratches on tank (from incredibly strong magnetic tank bag!), and engine cover, but runs fine.  Small crack in fairing panel, from a small spill a few years ago, but bike has not been crashed.  I have recently bought a Triumph Sprint ST and am looking to sell the Fazer asap.  It doesn't look the best cosmetically but still runs well and has served me very well for the last 5 years.  Please email or phone 07763931178 if interested.
