Hi guys
Im putting my 99 fazer back together after a crash in july :wall , doing a lot of mods, one of which i want blue samco hoses for the radiator.
I got in touch with samco, who put me over to Race bike bitz, as some of you may be aware, they dont make kits for the 600's but if i can drum up at least 10 people wanting kits, Samco will make the kit.
Having at least 10 orders covers the machining costs.
So if anybody is intrested, please send me a PM and we can hopefully get kits for our bikes! :thumbup
They estimate the full kit will be £100-£110, as the kits for the Thou are £130.

Motorbike boots widths / sizes |

Hi does anyone know if Alpinestars' boots generally come up wider than TCX or if they come up wide in general. If not anyone know any boots at all that I can get in a size 49 or 50 (EUR) that come up quite wide? Preferably sports tourer / sports style.
I'm having a lot of trouble getting anything that will fit me at the moment. Decided to go down the mail order route since no shops seem to have my sizes. First I got some Spada's in a 47 which were too small both in terms of length and width. Now I've just got some TCX S-Zero's and they feel a bit too tight width ways on one foot (just keeping them on for 30 minutes). Considering the amount of money I've paid for them I've prefer to send them back and pay a similar amount for some that are completely comfortable!

we were out at the flics tonight (at Linwood for the locals), the easy way home by motorway was closed for repairs, the detour taking us round the arse end of Paisley and back towards the airport to rejoin the M8. trying to follow the detour we didn't spot a bit of pavement sticking out into the two lane road - like a reverse bus stop, so bang! both passenger side (near side? never did get the hang of that) wheels collided with the kerb. both stayed inflated, no wobbles or pulling on the move, but there is a bulge on the sidewall of the front tyre. about the size of a tangerine, but black ...obviously.
my question (at last I hear you cry) is this - does the bulge mean that the tyre is damaged and unsafe? (would be typical as they're not that old)

Good evening,
I joined the wonderful world of foccers in 2002.
I used to visit daily but for the past couple of years I just visit every now and then. I guess it's a month or two since my last visit and I can't log in and my old ID seems to have disappeared so I've had to re-register.
I couldn't find a link for Chalky or Admin hence the general post. Has there been a clean up campaign and those with infrequent posts disappear?
Cheers

Eyup, thought I’d pick the collective FOC-U brain about tips for Fazer thou weight saving !
I’ve been thinking of how I might shed a few pounds from mi ’05 Fazer, I’d have thought the bulk of the weight is in the engine and frame, and that there’s not a vast amount that could be done there to reduce weight - or is there ?
Looking round the bike, there are a few obvious things (remove rear footrests (if you don’t do pillion !), remove the metal frame covers around the swing-arm pivot area, etc) but I can’t think of much else that will really save much weight, maybe three or four kilos ?
A lightweight battery (at a price !) should save a further three kilos, and the only other major thing I’ve thought of is lightweight wheels, although again very pricey for something that will save significant weight !
Any other thoughts about how weight can be saved ?
I suppose this post is a bit of winter fun really, and I fully expect the usual “cut down on the pies – the bike is the least of your worries” type replies, but thought it would be good to share any Fazer weight saving tips !
Cheers,
Fletch
