Fazer!

After more than a year (or 2) trying to decide what bike to get to replace my FZS600 (it just does so much so well...) I have finally decided to get a shiny FZ1!

Its a real beauty (totally unmodified apart from heated grips and an alarm) and hopefully picking it up next Saturday - so excited! this is only my 2nd bike (have the 600 Fazer for over 4 years)

I am gonna miss my old bike but looking forward to the power of the litre bike!

one question - how quick do these alarms drain the battery if not riding for say a week? or 2? its a Datatag Cat 1 apparently

  fazer 600 1998 running problems
Posted by: marty3000 - 20-05-12, 07:38 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (6)

Hi I have a brain teaser, my Fazer starts fine, runs fine for a few miles then starts to play up. Especially in and around town with stop start traffic. If on the open road and I keep the revs up high no problems. At low speeds and low revs problems start. When I open the throttle to overtake the bike dies and then surges forward with excess power because I have to open throttle that extra bit to overtake.  Then at high revs bike runs fine, for while then the cycle starts again....???

I have also noticed that my full gauge has a life of its own, riding along now and again my gauge will go to full (when I have between 1/4 and 1/2 a tank of fuel), and problems as above appear worse than usual. The needle on the gauge will read what it wants when it wants and then return to 'normal' reading. The above symptoms get a little better but do not improve completely???

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Lost downpipe assembly bolt, is it M8 size?
Posted by: TommyTheGun - 20-05-12, 04:00 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (2)

HI,

I was cleaning my bike and noticed that the bolt holding the downpipes to riders right foot rest assembly is gone.  Does anyone know what the part number is for this or where I could get one from?  Dont want them coming off down the road, any info would be much appreciated!

Thanks
