Only just dawned on me to join one of these on-line clubs..
Had my Fazer 1000 for 6 years now, and after my V-Max it was a like a race bike..
It's a 2004 bike in dark grey, standard looking, although I've junked the exup valve, fitted a naughty can and had the bike re-jetted and tuned up on a rolling road. Result was a healthy 129.6 bhp at the back wheel and a grin on ma face that looked quite unsettling..
It's now looking it's age a wee bit so next month it's goin for powder coating, braided lines, new sprockets etc. and a new rear shock.
And maybe even a wash.. 8)

Hia all. Gazbo here.Been riding since '78. no car licence - just bikes. Just got my first FZS600 on an 03 plate. Mint.17 thou. balanced carbs at weekend. ( thanks to the "how to" article from somewhere on here!)sweet now (low end was lumpy to say the least. chain snatching when pulling away gently - not now though !) Just thought I'd introduce me-sen. Dewsbury west yorks. locals might have seen my plodding to and from work on an 'orrible orange 883 sportster, bought due to a slipped disk, had best riding position etc. Leeds specialist has removed the offending item now, so I'm a bit more shall we say - flexible.
Rip off britain has fleeced me for the last time with that bloody Harley. so Ive gone from riding an anti aircraft gun to an electric motor in one fell swoop.
Must say I'm impressed. last four was a GPZ550, about 15 yrs back. that seemed a bit more grunty on low end, so I'm still getting used to the Yam screemin' buzz! after the yank lump, It feels like I'm gonna drop a rod or something, very revvy engines these. Ive had vertical twins, two guzzi's, original triumphs, single cylinder jap two stroke stuff - you name it. This seems to be by far the most user friendly.Oh - and this is my first ever forum post, on any forum, so if I did it wrong, please forgive me. This is one area where I'm still on L plates.(my nickname is either Gazbo, or the Grim Reaper). (I dabble a bit with rock and blues guitar, and a bit of fast irish folk on mandolin, and I fly model aircraft - when I can, dowwn at the dewsbury club field).
There.so that's me then. 51 yrs young and still plodding. wife of same age (21 she reckons - yeah - dream on love! and one son (Dan) who will be fourteen this july.big as a house ! Harley suspension didn't like the two of us on board - kept bottoming on the sleepin plods !This one doesn't !

After changing my pads i noticed there seems to be a small leakage coming from the bleed nipple.
I dont think its leaking from the nipple itself, but from around the threads (its not crossthreaded)
Its not leaking massively but its noticable overnight as the caliper has some small patches of brake fluid.
The fluid doesn't seem to seep when i'm applying the brakes and the brakes work fine.
I've tightened the nipple as tight as i dare but there seems to be a very small amount of fluid existing.
Is it worth buying a new bleed nipple or just replace the caliper with a second hand one?

Took the rear pre load up one click (harder) and screwed the forks preload down one notch and now the bike seems a little better in the handling department.
Could be because I'm 90Kg and probably heavier than the standard settings allowed for. Anyone else had a play about? Running 32/36 tyre pressures as well.

Bought an Sd card on Tuesday for the camera as my wife had the other one and she's away. Anyway took lots of photo of the torch relay with my 2 year so that she has some memories of it.
Yesterday my wife was snapping away and suddenly the camera couldn't read the card and nor can our laptop. :'( :'(
So my question to Tori and others is there any way these photos can be recovered off the memory card.
Needless to say i'm pretty pissed off and don't hold out much hope, but i know hard disc can be recovered.
Can someone help?
Nick

Hi all.
I'm returning to biking after a lay-off of more than 15 years. In my youth I progressed through a DT50 at 16, then up to a KDX125 at 17, a KLX250 at 18 (which was soon traded in, horrible bike :\ ) followed by a RF600 for a couple of years, before I gave it up for cars.
The cost of petrol and a commute that's about to get longer (actually, it doesn't help that my daily driver is a 12mpg, 6.6 litre Chevy Camaro, but enough of that, this is a bike forum), I've gone back to the econonmy thrill of 2 wheel transport.
I picked up a 2000 FZS600 in Silver on Friday night, with just 47K on the clock. An absolute bargin, considering it's had a FSH, and the April service/MOT was more then 2/3 of the purchase price, and it included a nice new set of Motad downpipes. It's also got heated grips (not working, but I hope to be able to sort that), and a Scottoiler with the large capacity reservoir too.
It a bit scary with my first riding in 15 years being on a big bike in London rush hour traffic, and I spent the whole time just following the queues, with hand permanently on the levers. Once I got out of London and the traffic eased a bit I was able to relax a bit more and start to enjoy it. I've covered about 70 miles now, and am much more relaxed - things are starting to come back to me.
I've not done any maintenance on bikes, but with plenty of experience on the cars, there is nothing that will scare me on this. I'm sure I'll have lots of questions as I start delving into it. In fact there's one on the way now...
Cheers,
Jamie

Hi all
Now that the good weather is here I'm finaly getting a few miles on my new to me, 08 FZ1n,and loving it. The only gripe for me is there is no centre stand which is a pain when it comes to washing the bike and chain maintenance. I don't want to go the paddock stand route as they are awkward to take with you !! so I am looking at buying a centre stand. Being a bit of a spanner monkey the questions are, Is this doable / easy to fit ? And does anyone have one for sale ?
Many thanks
Russ
