  Fazer 1000 2002 forks needed
Posted by: binarystarr - 23-05-12, 12:31 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (7)

I have a small leak coming from the top nut of my left fork and its an expensive part.

I'm therefore on the hunt for a replacement fork.

If anyone is breaking a fazer 1000 then please let me know.

  MOT pass or fail?
Posted by: chaz - 23-05-12, 12:34 AM - Forum: General - Replies (6)

Well my bike passed the mot test this week, in fact I haven't had a bike fail (although I do check them over) unlike cars I've had maybe only 50% to 75% pass rate, the car failed on emissions this time due to exhaust leaking.

What is your pass rate????????

Jack up kit fitted. Can YOU spot the difference?
Posted by: know your limitations - 22-05-12, 08:29 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (11)

Ordered a 25mm jack up kit and just finished fitting it.
Wasn't sure if it was wise to do it after work as I could have buggered it up and left myself without wheels for the morning.
Anyway, all went well with no dramas and I quite enjoyed doing it. Even cleaned and re-greased bolts, bushes and bearings.
Old dog bones centre of hole to centre of hole were 144mm. New ones c2c were 140mm.
Just sitting on the bike, suspension feels a touch firmer (good) but not ridden it yet.

If I'm honest, I'm a little underwhelmed as I can't see any real difference to the profile of the bike and my feet seem to touch the ground to the same degree as before, so can you guys spot the difference?

Before and after shots below (not necessarily in the right order). Didn't replicate camera angle very well though, sorry.

Stubby can and link pipe Fzs600s
Posted by: thom_1991 - 22-05-12, 07:40 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (3)

eBay ad here. 50mm slip on and link pipe for 98-03 Fazer 600 but can would obviously fit other bikes though link pipe probably wouldn't be suitable.

  Hello!

Hey folks,

I'm new here and I don't even own a Fazer!!  It's ok though, my missus does.

2003 FZS600 in blue - 22k miles.  Lovely bike, so much so that I'm considering jacking in my Honda Firestorm and getting an FZS1000 for myself!

Anyways, I'll be mainly posting in the technical section as this one appears to have suffered from the traditional Fazer disappearing front sprocket trick...  :rolleyes

Matt.

Has anyone used EBC organic brake pads ?  any feed bck on quality would be great. Any other suggestions on brakes? Know brembo are supposed to be the best but too pricey at min.  Wink Wink :lol

lesson learnt..the hard way through the wallet
Posted by: eddie - 22-05-12, 02:23 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (6)

do not buy pattern brake seals...the fekkers swell with contact to dot 4 brake fluid and the pistons are then wedged so tight you need 4 weetabix and  a crow bar to get em out ...get yamaha oe  any thing else at your peril
