  Lost my alarm fob
Posted by: PaulSmith - 29-05-12, 06:04 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (3)

I lost the alarm fob for a laserline 862 while on a ride on Sunday. Naturally it was my only fob and now I cant deactivate the immobiliser. I got the bike recovered my home and I do not realy want to pay €100+ to someone else to sort it for me. I am fairly decent at DIY including basic electrics so I would really appreciate any hints and tips.

  OIly leak Advice needed!!!
Posted by: Pjc2480 - 29-05-12, 02:50 PM - Forum: FZ6 / Fazer - Replies (2)

Hi All, I am brand new to this site and a complete novice so all advice welcome.
I have a FZ6 Fazer which I have owned since April this year. It has 7700 on the clock and runs beautifully but I have notice some leakage coming out of the overflow pipes on the off side. I think that the liquid leaking is coming from the middle overflow pipe and is slightly oily and smells of petrol. Over the course of the day the patch is about 50mm diameter and is only very minor, but is anyone aware of this and what is the potential cause?  The leak is not continous and all the overflow pipes seam dry. I think it is when I turn up to the office and it must happen soon after arriving. I know this might be minor so just looking for so basic advice and reassurance.  MANY THANKS. Wink

  Fails to start...

Hi all,

My knowledge of bike mechanics is very much limited.

But on trying to fire the beast up, when I press and hold the starter button, I hear a click (presumeably the starter motor relay) - then nothing - rather than the click-click-vroom etc that I used to hear.  Not sure if I can hear it turning over at all.  Should I be able to?  But if I use a bit of throttle the bike fires up.

Dodgy starter motor?  Brushes need cleaning?  Any suggestions welcomed!

  front pads

Changed the front pads (EBC)  on my '58 plate gen 2 a month or so ago and have just located a rattle/ clonk when coming to a stop. Traced it to the pads tipping on the pins in the caliper. Anyone else had this problem with EBC pads or have I just got a duff set?

Hi All,
Small introduction from me. Passed my test first time in March of this year. Purchased an Immaculate 04 FZ6 Fazer on Good Friday. Over the moon to be honest. Absolutley love it. Love Biking and all that goes with that community. I have a small oil leak coming from the sump drain bolt. Is this easy to change? Any advice greatfully recieved. Please dont hesitate to ask any questions (nothing dodgey will be answered), and thanks for reading.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Cheers

  motoring lawyer/summons advice needed
Posted by: sadlonelygit - 28-05-12, 09:46 PM - Forum: General - Replies (1)

no, not me..........swmbo.
a long time ago in a galaxy far, far.....stop it!
2009 she gets a NIP. we fill it in requesting evidence as it's a company car and 2 people used it that day. evidence was useless (we knew it would be) so requested more evidence as we had used 'reasonable diligence but were unable to ascertain who the driver was'.
we heard nothing back from them.
whoooooooooooosh to 2012 and we get a demand from a bailiff for £600. a bit of digging discovers that she has been convicted in her absence of S172. a bit more digging discovers that the summons was sent to the wrong address.
now then, does the statute of limitations apply to the S172, and if not, does the SoL apply to the SP30 offence.
TIA
