  Petrol tank storage
Posted by: bludclot - 23-02-20, 05:43 PM - Forum: General - Replies (3)

The tank (and plastics) from my CBR are all changed so am going to store them in the loft until sale or accident time. I was considering putting the tank into one of the many vacuum storage bags available cheaply from DIY shops or Ebay, a good idea? Tank is empty of fuel and has two large holes, one for the filler and the other for the fuel pump and filter assembly....

Sell or Swap Micron Carbon Fibre High Level Exhaust for FSZ1000
Posted by: Reaper - 23-02-20, 01:38 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (3)

For Sale or Swap.
Micron, Road Legal (BSAU Stamped) Carbon Fibre High Level Exhaust, Link Pipe and all required brackets and spacers.
Looking to Sell or Swap this exhaust that came with the bike when I bought it. To be honest, I'm not a fan of the High Level systems and would prefer an aftermarket system that sits in the standard location / height. That's why I'm up for a swap or sale. If it's a swap then I'd be looking for something of a similar quality and condition. If its a sale, it's difficult to put a price on as I've yet to find any similar examples for sale second hand. So if I say £150 as a rough guide but I'm happy to be flexible and consider sensible offers.
If looking for a swap I live in Worthing, West Sussex and work at Gatwick Airport so can meet at various points along the South Coast.

  Gear Indicator Setup
Posted by: Middy2000 - 21-02-20, 03:36 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (6)

So after about 6 months of getting around to it I've finally installed my gear change indicator.

Struggled with the wiring as the Chinese instructions are naff and talk of wiring colours was misleading. However I'm confident it's right as it initialises.

To set it up you have to ride and change into each gear. However my insurance doesn't start until next week so I can't do that and thought I'd do it in the garage on the centre stand.

It doesn't however work. Just sits trying to learn first gear.

Question is, would this be because the bike isn't detecting any speed? Must admit every video and instruction I've seen all do it on the road.

Hello all
Has anyone been to this before? Was going to go last year but didn’t get around to going in the end. Not sure if it’s worth going this year or not...?

  Change fuel filter
Posted by: Bazza123 - 18-02-20, 11:45 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (5)

Hello all
Servicing the bike at present whilst the weather is poor. I have a new fuel filter to fit - bit of a noob question though - how is the old one removed? It seems tightly wedged against the bracket that crosses the frame. Does this need removing first? Haines doesn’t say much about it.

Any help much appreciated.

  Help what happens now
Posted by: Stormbringer - 16-02-20, 03:15 PM - Forum: General - Replies (38)

I went to pick my bike up after the accident repairs yesterday.
They had just returned from the road test .
More bad news there is a loud knocking from the left side of the engine low down .
There was no knocking before the accident and no external damage to the engine .
So what happens now as the other drivers insurance company had agreed repairs and they where on the limit of it being a writeoff.
