Petrol tank storage - bludclot - 23-02-20 The tank (and plastics) from my CBR are all changed so am going to store them in the loft until sale or accident time. I was considering putting the tank into one of the many vacuum storage bags available cheaply from DIY shops or Ebay, a good idea? Tank is empty of fuel and has two large holes, one for the filler and the other for the fuel pump and filter assembly.... Re: Petrol tank storage - nickf - 23-02-20 ...similar was mentioned on the Gpz site recently, a suggestion was also putting a bit of fresh engine oil in the tank, blocking the holes & rolling it so all surfaces were covered. That would help with any moisture sealed in the bag. Re: Petrol tank storage - unfazed - 02-03-20 I used WD40 from a 5 litre can. Literally washed the tank out with it. It has been sitting 3 years with out issue, wrapped in an old blanket. |
