Well, took a ride out to Matlock Bath yesterday, did the usual checks on oil / water / brake fluid / lights etc etc and inflated the tyres to recommended pressure (36/42 psi for me)
Was about to go out today and thought even though it's only been 24 hours that I should check them again, rear showed 5psi!!!!! I thought my gauge was busted until I pressed the tyre................... F**K!!!!, nail right in the middle of the tread, what an absolute b*****d....
Decided then to check my front pressures just in case, had hung my helmet on the throttle side of the bike "just for a minute" while doing the pressures, moved the bars ever so slightly and bang, down it went....... right on the crown, scratched all the paint and visor. Not happy.
Costs - New tyres (going for a matching pair as don't fancy mixed rubber - BT023 - £250 fitted.

Hi all, fitted the akra headers and teamed up to Bos can as it has the correct stamps, as off for MOT, spoke to tester and he said as long as not over loud the akra can would have passed.
Slight problem my battery failed at test centre, so MOT with engine running then trip for new battery at bike shop, another £55, not bad I thought.
With full monty and new pipes this bike howls!
Instant drive from tickover, no dips or troughs, at 5k revs we are off! So much power all through the rev range.
Really impressive, just hard to hold on now :lol
Some weight loss too, also removed exup cables aswell .
Many thanks to Tmation for sale of pipes, a real bargain.
Off to try akra end can now, more throaty.
It looks the dogs and fits with pyramid belly pan.
Cheers all will post pics soon once I fathom how from new phone.
Jacko :lol

| Busted Fazer - what are my options? |

FZS600 2003, ~75k miles, various dints and scratches to match the miles.
Long story short, 2 of the exhaust studs have snapped. A kind mechanic from York Suzuki rode to my place to take a look and says that because of the position of the studs (i.e behind the frame) it would be costly to fix as the engine will have to be removed to get at them - he said he wouldn't quote for the job as he felt the bike wasn't worth the money.
And to be fair, because I have no garage and the bike is kept under a cover, it has deteriorated over the past couple of years, and from a quick gander the front forks will certainly need replacing. This is on top of a new exhaust system. So all in all repair will cost more than the value of the bike.
So what are my options here? I think they are:
Try and sell it, pick-up only - can't imagine getting much for it.
Sell it for scrap to a broker - again can't imagine getting much.
Breaking it myself - a bit of hastle, but educational. Not sure what I would do with the shell (i.e. wheels, frame and engine) when finished.
Any (constructive) suggestions?

Time for some changes and your input/advise would be much appreciated.. 95% solo riding 5% with a pillion, solo riding normally in attack mode or waiting to attack mode.
Issues, lack of low down grunt (handy when a pillions on), occasional snatch when accelerating hard out of conrners, massive vibes through bars and rear pegs 4 - 5500 rpm (might have to live with this one), needs better brakes, pogos occasionally
Brakes - braking wavey disks and hell lines with sintered pads, been there before and they are ace
Low down power and snatching options, number one priority and where my money will go first. Fit an FCE yes or no and where would I get one fitted ( I live near Derby but dont mind travelling). Can and no map/ can and powercommander/ can, powercommander and no exup/any other options.
Suspension options??
I dont need to reinvent this stuff you guys and girls have done this stuff succesfully and maybe unsucesfully so all halp and advice mucho appricaited

Is there a cure for it? The chain is in good condition and correctly lubed/adjusted but I still hear it rustle more than on other bikes I've owned. I was wondering what effect going one tooth up on the rear sprocket might have? Or is the answer simply 'Earplugs'? :lol
