Front Wheel Bearings |

After reading the words of encouragement on this site, I have just ordered a pair of front wheel bearings for my 2004 23k miles Fazer. Does this seem premature for new bearings? The symptom was a bit of 'notchiness' when cornering. No play evident on the front wheel bit I can hear a 'ticking' when I spin the wheel with the calipers removed.
Prices do vary dramatically on fleabay but I ordered from bikebearings in the end.

carb balancing! |

I was given a carb balancer a few months back for free, one of the older type with dials,so i decided today to balance the carbs.Everything was easy to do but locating the adjuster screw for the carbs on the left hand side was a nightmare,I literally spent ten minutes looking for it using a decent torch!I had looked at the pictures on Pats motorcycle page but still found it difficult to locate.
Now I `ve managed I`m happy with the results, the tickover is smoother and the engine seems to be smoother at low revs now.
Has anyone found an easy way to locate the screws? I was going to put a dab of white paint on them but I didn`t have a brush small enough or long enough to reach,I had enough trouble finding a screwdriver that would reach.

I live 100 yds off the main road which is a major A road into Wales cominf from Worcester and the west midlands,,all day on a Saturday and Sunday i hear vvvrrrroooooommmm, vvvrrrooooommmm, the village center has a bypass, two lanes up the hill to. well it would be rude not too bash up it, and the bikers do,,lovely to listen to them coming over it, the road is 80 ft higher up the field from my house so we get the noise.
This morning,Sunday i took the dogs down the orchard andthe first bike went through at 7 oclock, hell he gets out early, cant blame him really as to the roads ahead of them are awesome,
i dont know if any of you have been into the Brecon beacons national park, cafe vans around the laybys,,lots of bikes all day, great mountains to see, huge open bends,,smooth tarmac,SHEEP, haha.
There sure is some great sounds go up our bypass, them twins booming are good too.

Intermittent starting problem |

Hey guys, got abit of a problem and hoping one of you people could help me out!
I have a intermittent starting problem, everyone now and again (2-4 weeks) I go too start my bike and it's a real slow start crank for a few seconds untill it just dies to a buzz.
It will start from a bump fine, runs fine, but if i cut it out and try start it, same old buzzing.
It generally seems to happen when my last ride out was in rain, and the latest time was very heavy rain.
If I recharge the battery it'll start fine for a varied period of time again.
Testing the alternator with a multimeters bring out a good strong voltage reading.
I'm not sure where to start, bad earth somewhere that discharged the battery when wet? Thats the only thing that I could think of.
Any help is much apperitiated, thanks in advance!
