I looking at getting stuff powdercoated.... as other thread.
But i still need to use the bike while this is being done.
can the bike support its own weight of the can without the hanger?
is there a affter market hanger that looks good if i decide to lose the rear pegs?

Hi guys & gals.
I'm thinking more and more about selling my FZS600 commuter bike as i've had one since 2006 and looking to buy something slightly younger. So, just trying to gauge what kind of money I might be able to get.
I'll put pics up before the end of the week but here's the details: -
2000 FZS600 in black
MOT till June 2013
8 mths tax
63,000 miles
Goodf stuff
Bombproof reliability - as a commuter it's never let me down
K&N filter - just re-oiled
New plugs
New Oil & Filter
Motad stainless pipes
Scottoiler
Oxford heated grips
Fuel can
BRAND SPANKING new Michelin Road Pilot 2 front tyre & plenty of meat on the rear (also RP2)
Fork seals replaced 6 mths ago
Brake caliper seals replaced & system bled and serviced 4 mths ago
C&S in good condition
Bad stuff
Forks are quite pitted
Some scratches on rear plastics due to soft luggage bungies rubbing
A few scratches on genny cover where I was clumsy and dropped it whilst trying to get onto centrestand
The bike is mechanically sound but the bodywork etc does show it's age and the fact that it's been used through all weather. Do you think i'd be asking for too much if I was happy to accept £1000?
Thoughts on a postcard
Brace

When fitting my SatNav mount, I got my voltmeter and removed the seat to find a convenient ignition-switched source. I should have just gone straight into the lighting circuit, but being lazy, I noticed that there was a connector quite close to the battery, so I tested the voltage reading from it and sure enough, 0v with no ignition and 12v with ignition on. Perfect!! So I made a joint into the wire and fitted my SatNav.
A few days later, I decided to have a full day out on the bike and connected the SatNav to its mount. With the ignition on, the charging symbol lit up and off I went on my journey. Somewhere in the Lake District, I moved into an area I'd never visited before and kinda got lost. So I pulled over to plot a destination on the SatNav only to find out that the low-battery symbol was flashing!! I couldn't understand it because when I'd set off, it was charging.
Anyway, I set off riding again and noticed that occasionally (and very briefly) the charging symbol would reappear. It was infuriating. I pulled over to the kerb and yes, it was definately on. As I pulled away, it went off. Pull over to the kerb - it started charging again. WTF???
I then realised what was happening - the charging symbol was coming on when I was stationary with the clutch pulled in. As soon as I moved off and released the clutch, the charging ceased. I had obviously tapped into the circuit which detects if the clutch is pulled in :lol
What a dumbass :rolleyes . Sorted now.

Hi, new to the forum. (and coincidently new to hertfordshire)
Just bought a gen 1 fazer 1000, and thus far absolutely loving her. Upgraded from an SV650, and soooo glad I made the change.

why would a 2004 bike (tuning forks on the tank, lights on) have an early set of clocks on it (no odd mph numbers)?
is the mileage stored on the ecu or the odo.
wouldn't want to point my mate towards a lemon.
that is all!
