false neutral between 1st and 2nd |

Hi Foccers, Any advice on managing the false neutral between 1st and 2nd gear? I've noticed it recently when changed up it is very 'clunky' and will occasionally go into neutral instead of 2nd OR grind a little before clunking into 2nd. Either way, it isnt very smooth! Any tips on gear change technique so it doesnt get worse? (cant be arsed swapping engines as its not THAT bad)

Hi all As on my profile am currently running a gen1 fazer thou and a buell s1, i'm thinking of putting all my eggs in one basket as it were but am in all honesty struggling finding something that beats the fazer, i really fancied the vfr1200 but sat on one and didn't like the riding position, i love the look of the xtz1200 but dont like the price. Come on chaps throw some suggestions/opinions this way.

Hi guys,
Just a quick question, I've heard conflicting advise regarding up shifting, the main difference in the shifts being with or without clutch. I've been trying with clutch, which is fine when riding sedately but try and do it when going quick and the engine revs as I can't shut the throttle quick enough...
Without clutch it seems to shift a lot smoother, no over-revving of the engine and doesn't give any alarming clunking sounds, suppose its just like a slower version of an electronic shifting device!
What do you all do? and should I be avoiding any particular technique? Thanks

I am assuming that people from Glasgow on here being Fazer owners have
had their bikes services here at some point. I am curious what sort of quality
of work you have received in their on your bikes. I am assuming that I have
just been very unlucky in my dealings with them. I have two bikes (Both Yam's)
and have had them in a few times for various odd's and sods an each time
there has been stuff that has annoyed me when they have come back to the
point I am considering looking for another Yam dealer to take my bikes too.
I wouldn't mind but at £71 quid an hour I am a little tired of getting my bike
back to find certain irregularities. To be fair to them not everything that's
happened is their fault nearly getting taken out by a taxi while road testing
one of my bikes is beyond anyone's control and I was glad the lad was okay
and thankful that he managed to get my bike out of the way but I've not had
this sort of thing at the 3 other garages I used over the last 3 years.
Opinions welcome, I am trying to keep an open mind but I really nearly blew
a gasket this morning.

well I got my first ever speeding ticket in the post this morning, not bad to say I've been riding and driving 44 years.
my crime is doing 79 mph on the Malton by pass a duel carriage way. It was a camera van so must have had a camera facing forward to get my number.
One mph less and I would have been ok. I was on a nearly empty road in the day it was dry, I wonder why they put the vans where its safe to go a bit over the speed limit and not where it is dangerous to speed, maybe because 99.9% wouldn't speed there.
they have caught over 16,000 in north yorkshire in the last 12 months raising about £1,000,000 in fines, lets hope it goes to improve road safety and not pay some official a vast wage for doing nothing.
