Wanted 2005 Fazer 1000 headlight unit.
Posted by: dazedandconfused - 07-10-12, 05:30 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (5)

After a little altercation with a 4x4 that somebody waved out of a side junction on me I'm in need of a FZS1000 2005 (Gen 1) headlight unit.  Part Number 5LV-84310-10. I've repaired the old one for now with some flexible plastic and duck tape but don't know how long it will stay waterproof.  :lol

This is what mine looked like.

  My bike is ticking...
Posted by: Dead Eye - 07-10-12, 04:07 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (55)

Hi all, went to go out for a spin today (nice Sunday afternoons are rare) and as I started the bike there is a rather loud ticking coming from the engine. Now my first thought was maybe the cam-chain tensioner, but I would have expected this to come on gradually, not to all of a sudden appear. After that I suspected something lose in the front sprocket area so removed the cover to find everything fine. After that I figured I would ask you guys before doing any potential damage Sad It sounded as if it got a bit better when it warmed a little, but not significantly.

  Urgent landline help needed please!
Posted by: Tori - 07-10-12, 11:59 AM - Forum: General - Replies (33)

I am trying to find a fault with ma's home phone. If I call her phone, it rings once and disconnects, even though phone will show a timer as if it's connected. I have disconnected a second phone out of a socket upstairs. The main socket has a test socket inside, I've plugged directly into there, same problem. Southern say there is no fault on the line. Would this mean the fault is in wiring in the house? It worked perfectly before! I'm at a loss!

  Lowering
Posted by: arch33angel - 07-10-12, 10:21 AM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (9)

After 4 FZS600s I would like to go for the litre but as I'm only 5'7" seat height is gonna be a problem. Can anyone give any advice on the way to go re. lowering and does the handling suffer much? I'm not a knee-down rider but like a blast now and again. Thanks guys.

  Plug Leads
Posted by: dickturpin - 06-10-12, 10:18 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (1)

I've read about folks on here replacing their plug caps for NGK ones and also that the waterproof rubber seal on the lead can still be used. How is that done? The big rubber seals look to be part of the oe rubber cap.

I bought my fazer last month, everything is going well, just one thing is playing on my mind..
When i bought the bike i just looked at the tyres for tread, but upon closer examination i have noticed they are different brands...
Up front there is a Michelin pilot road 2, on the rear is a Avon AV56 storm st ultra..
The thing that gets me is there both brand new, very little wear.. Why would the previous owner of done this?
I always thought it was commmon place to match tyres?
Should i be concerned, it seems to handle well, but saying that i no real frame of referance as this is my first big bike..

FZ1 trouble getting into 2nd gear
Posted by: baggy - 06-10-12, 09:47 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (6)

I sometimes have trouble getting my 06 FZ1 Fazer into 2nd gear. It usually happens when the temperature starts to rise after being suck in traffic.  Any idea what it might be?

Cheers
