was discussing changing colours on bikes today, got a great deal when I bought the bike but the colour wasnt my first choice.. looked into changing the colour but finding decent panels in the right colour combinations can be a bit hit and miss.. ebay doesnt always have them in the colours Im looking at or has parts that are slightly damaged or marked and would need touched up so I thopught of looking into the cost with brand new parts...
Wasnt worried about proper factory bodywork/engine paint combinations as such.. I have a '05 silver model with silver engine but want to reduce the amount of silver on the bike.. I feel theres too much currently especially with the added colour matched hugger and belly pan.. (see avatar)
Not looking for a custom paintjob or anything, just something I can swap over so factory colours/decals are fine..
Did think about the respray route but wondered if buying new might be a cheaper option after you consider the price or a respray, new decals and such.. genuine Yamaha colours are bloomin' expensive!!
Does anyone know any wesites etc that sell new panels/tanks etc..
been looking round the net but aint having much luck.. plenty of sites selling all the other stuff - tyres, engine parts, seats, electrics etc but cant find anyone doing panels or related bodywork..
Thoughts?
Budgie

I recently bought an '08 Fazer 600 S2 which has a Leo Vince Evo exhaust (baffles intact) which i thought would be cool, but when i ride, i find it is quite loud even though i wear earplugs. I heard a couple of standard Fazers today and could barely hear the engine. I have the standard exhaust and cat pipe but don't want it to sound so quiet. Any suggestions please?

Last time I tanked up, I decided to see how much I could get out of the old girl by riding more sedately. I'm not talking about purposely riding for 150 miles on a motorway at 56 mph - that would be pointless. I'm talking about typical rideouts but with sensible takeoffs, smooth acceleration and sticking rigorously to the speed limits.
150 odd miles later, I managed 47mpg. My worst was 36.7mpg, so not what you'd call a dramatic difference, but over time it'll add up. Will I stick to the new "eco" riding style - maybe!

If it's possible to change the fairing on a 2005 1000, to make it a naked bike ?
What I really like is the look of the Fazer 800, and was wondering if the headlight unit would fit ( if I could get my hands on one )
Failing that anybody fancy px'ing a naked 8 for my 1000 ?

| Brake judder in the wet? |

I was riding the other night in fairly heavy rain in a 30 zone. As I pulled up to a roundabout the last 4 or 5 meters I got what I assume was brake judder. It felt like I lost a bit of braking too and had to squeeze harder.
It only happened once and the bike was fine on the way home but its a little unnerving as I have never experienced it before. The last thing I want to do is go out on a Sunday ride and find I don't have brakes when I really need them.
Has anyone else had this before?
Anything I should be checking?
Thanks
