  FZS1000 - Rubbish Headlights!!
Posted by: MadDogMcQ - 18-11-12, 11:18 AM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (14)

Boy, are those headlights crap, or what?? I don't normally ride at night, but I did a couple of days ago and was shocked at how poor they are. Has anyone tried the Philips MotoVision bulbs or something similar? I don't want to do a HID conversion.

  Our very own toughest mudder
Posted by: Tori - 18-11-12, 12:44 AM - Forum: General - Replies (5)

For those of you that don't know, OMF and Deefer's lad, Matt, is doing the Worlds toughest mudder in the states. (Apologies if this has already been posted, I did have a quick scan)
Matt is currently on his second lap of the ten mile course. On his first lap, he came in the top quarter of the runners. How amazing is that?! The race is over 24 hours.
Good luck Matt! We're all so proud of you back home. Keep going!!! Smile

You can follow Matts progress at the link below. The race ends at 3pm our time tomorrow.

  bar mounted mirror Q
Posted by: tommyteeman - 17-11-12, 09:24 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (11)

going to put a set of bar mounted mirrors on and was wondering what others have done. The right hand looks simple enough using the mount already there, is that reverse thread in there ?
Left side was thinking one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bike-Universal...4849c59408 which I assume will be normal/right hand thread.
Now then.....If I buy a set of yamaha mirrors will they both be left hand thread, both right hand or one of each ?  :'( :lol

any help welcome........ Smile

anyone on here vote in police elections ? ha ha
Posted by: phillywilly - 17-11-12, 06:57 PM - Forum: General - Replies (22)

so i take it no one walked down to their local voting station and wasted 5 mins of their life voting in faceless up their own arse ponces  to oversee the police budget (minus their £65000 wages )
surely the best person for that is the police chief ? so why ,in these days of cutting everything back to the bone do the taxpayers have to now fund all these waste of space persons ?- i thought cameron said at the last gen election he was doing away with the quangos ,well david you just made another 20 or so of them !
christ and to think that untill last month i have been a life long tory myself  :eek
rant over  :evil :rolleyes

  Crash bungs / bobbins
Posted by: Andy FZS - 17-11-12, 06:07 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (17)

Hi  I'm thinking of buying some crash bungs before I wish I had  :\  I've read that the single bolt ones are poor and the multi point ones are better. Does anyone have any advice (I know don't drop it  :lol ) on which are best which should be avoided where to buy from etc.

Cheers

Andy

Scots; Worth trying a Foc-US Festive Feast?
Posted by: Aegis Bearing Mel - 17-11-12, 05:51 PM - Forum: Events, Meets, Ride outs etc - Replies (11)

Well?
Last few attempts at getting us all together have proven, ehm, interesting to say the least.
So...

Been a couple of years since we had a Christmas Curry, how many would be interested in a wee night out mid December for some non festive, festive feasting?

Thinking avoid the traditional dessicated turkey, crunchy stuffing and soggy sprouts and go grab Indian/Chinese/Thai/Mexican.

If so, midweek or weekend?
15th & 22nd are Saturdays so folks can check diaries and the like.

If not I suspect it'll be a candle lit meal for two for me and Baloo.

This is one sorry rear bearing caliper side -- my suspecions were aroused when a trike rust was on the caliper hanger so i ordered new bearings before opening her up

the needle bearings fell out everything was full liquid rust

the needle bearings are bastids to get out best of times and this was no different took a hour with Mr hammer

well all back together

so when you do a tyre change take loose wheel from time to time so you can see the state ya bearings are in cause tyre bays wont tell ya thats for sure

An example of just how stupid some drivers are
Posted by: DILLIGAFF - 17-11-12, 03:09 PM - Forum: General - Replies (1)

Enjoying a beer or three in a bar in Byfleet last night and observed this.

The road outside the bar is a 3 lane one-way system but the two outside lanes are parking areas.

Along comes matey boy in his souped up Fiat and the front offside wheel detaches from the drive shaft leaving him stranded in the centre lane.

Now there was already a car parked in lane one alongside him, he is now blocking lane two with his hazard lights on...........................................and in the hour he was stuck there, SIX cars drove up and parked alongside him with no realisation that they had completely blocked the road????

Each time the driver had to stop them leaving and point out why they should move. Even when a bus came along another cager parked up blocking the road???????????????

No wonder there are so many "accidents" when drivers do not use simple logic to evaluate their situation and assess possible dangers.
