98 FZS rear caliper - 2old2boogie - 21-11-12 I have mullered the bleed nipple on my bike ('they all do that'I hear you shout!). Bloody thing has snapped off, tried the usual Eazi-Out method of removing it but it's having none of it. I am reluctant to attempt to drill it out as from experience I know I'm useless at this stuff. So before I remove it to a Machine Shop for removal I wondered if there is a replacement caliper that will bolt on? Re: 98 FZS rear caliper - darrsi - 21-11-12 If you can get it out okay: http://www.yamahascooterspares.co.uk/spares/epc2.asp?modelID=9655&PageiD=32&m=YAMAHA+FZS600+Fazer+REAR+BRAKE+CALIPER&uID=0 Re: 98 FZS rear caliper - markbubble - 21-11-12 you can get banjo bolts with bleed nipples built in to repair such things! iv got a spare rear caliper across town but not sure on condition ! Re: 98 FZS rear caliper - Fazerider - 22-11-12 Not done either myself, but the bluespot rear caliper from the FZS1000 can be made to fit with a certain amount of filing to the mounting bracket, alternatively a TRX850 bracket and caliper are a straightforward replacement according to this on the old site. Re: 98 FZS rear caliper - 2old2boogie - 22-11-12 Thanks for the feedback. I plan to find a local machine shop that can remove it and hopefully fit a new M8x1.25 nipple. If that can't happen then I'll remember the alternative calipers you suggest. ![]() |
