I'm alright Jack
Posted by: agricola - 14-02-20, 07:09 PM - Forum: General - Replies (8)

My old 2 tonne trolley jack has been leaking recently, so I looked up the seals etc to repair it. After pricing them up, went online to check on cost of a new jack and came across this one at Halfords, was £64, reduced to £55. With my Bennetts Insurance 10% discount card, made it less than £50.  Seemed reasonable for a 3 tonne unit, so I welcomed it into the man cave

Early headsup for this years Pioneer Run March 22nd .
Posted by: robbo - 12-02-20, 07:00 PM - Forum: Events, Meets, Ride outs etc - Replies (9)

LOFOs. March 22nd will be the 81st year of running the event for pre 1915 motorcycles. Starting from Tattenham Corner on Epsom Downs, the first bike departs at 8am. This years finishing line is at Brighton City Airport, in an attempt to avoid the normal high build up of traffic which severely baulks these old bikes. There's a tea hut by the starting area.

2002 Fazer dash lights reset when switching headlight to full beam
Posted by: nickf - 11-02-20, 01:40 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (10)

Hi, I am getting back to the Fazer now after a few years of working on my Gpz. One problem it has always had is that when the headlights are on & you switch to full beam or press the passing button, the lcd on the dash goes off for a second then all lights flash as though the ignition has been just turned on. So far I have wiggled all of the connectors, tested the 2 headlight relays as per the Haynes manual and they seem good. The bulbs are the correct wattage. The other thing that is strange is if I unplug 1 bulb then it is fine, doesn’t matter which side I undo. Has anyone had this problem before or got any ideas as to what I can check next? Nick.

Yup, new member here as well.....Sweden
Posted by: killerwhaleTRX - 10-02-20, 06:56 PM - Forum: Introduction - Replies (1)

Hey! TRX user between -05 & -19
One of the most modified TRX in the world i guess, split it for parts and bought an almost bog standard 2008 fizzer. (Framesliders all over and heated grips)
Will pick it up back from Switzerland beginning march. 40k service done at pickup and they mount my new black widow full system.
Found a PCV with 02 optimizer on evilbay for 180€ and some other bits and bobs so the mods already begun Smile But they are to be moderate in comparison!!!

Hope to have just as nice a time in here as over at the TRX850.com forum.

Cherriooo from Sweden!

Posted by: nivek24 - 09-02-20, 09:22 PM - Forum: FZ6 / Fazer - Replies (2)

anyone know what paint to use on a 2010 FZ6 S2 the black painted engine covers,  looks like a metallic finish not the satin finish on normal cases, it is the same colour and finish i have on my honda cbf, all shops i have tried say its just a satin black but i have got some satin and is not the same, sure owners who have the same finish will know what i mean.

  Hello from new member
Posted by: Ned - 09-02-20, 01:52 PM - Forum: Introduction - Replies (2)

Hi been looking at this site for tips on buying a fazer fzs600 (plenty of good info on here) so thought I'd sign up and say hello.
Got my test in a couple of weeks so it will be my first big bike. The bloke I got my 125 from has a nice 2001 silver one for sale so hopefully it'll still be there when I'm ready to swap.
Cheers

  Spraying wheels
Posted by: Dudeofrude - 08-02-20, 07:39 PM - Forum: General - Replies (4)

My wheels are looking worse for wear again. I was going to get them powder coated but the cost of having them blasted, coated and replacing the bearing just seems a little excessive when I only want them the same colour as they are.
My thinking is I can mask off the main hubs and bearings, give then a good sanding then buy a good quality 2 pack paint to spray then with.
Does this sound right or do I need a special kind of wheel paint?
Any tips before I give it a go?

Wanted: Broken Givi Monokey pannier / top box
Posted by: roxburd - 07-02-20, 02:43 PM - Forum: General - Replies (3)

I've recently started volunteering with SERV (the bloodrunners) and I need to make up a board to strap the boxes on to the back of my Fazer - I have a Givi Monokey plate on there and I want to make the board up from a sheet of aluminium with angle riveted round the edge and the locating and locking bits from a pannier riveted on too so it will snap on and off the plate like a top box.Panniers sell on eBay for £30 but I don't really need an intact one - a smashed-up one will do fine if the locating and locking bits are salvageable.I'm happy to pay for the bits and postage. It has to be Monokey rather than Monolock to fit the plate.Cheers,Dave
