Happy Birthday Fazer! & Winter Solstice
Posted by: Dave48 - 21-12-12, 10:34 AM - Forum: General - Replies (5)

10 years ago today the first owner of my bike rode out of George Whites Swindon on his shiny new bike. Just a thank you to him & the other two subsequent owners for looking after my pride & joy so well before i brought her home in August 2011. Thank you for all the aftermarket items & the service stamps in the book & for all the meticulous & thorough cleaning.
I remember seeing the new FZS thou in a showroom in 2001 & lusting after one but was shocked at the asking price which was way beyod my means then. 9 years later the price was affordable & the bike positively beckoned me into the shop! Like most I regret a few things in life but this was one of the best decisions Ive ever made.
Thanks for all the helpful advice & (mostly) friendly banter on the forum. Have a very Happy Christmas & hopefully a really good 2013! :lol The days will start to get lighter after today.

Bit Of Advice About Selling My Fazer
Posted by: Biglewey - 20-12-12, 10:17 PM - Forum: General - Replies (9)

Well its like this 0 got a 2003 Fazer FZS 600 one of the very last to be registered before they rolled over to the new injected model (not so good IMHO).

Its done about 6k miles (all dry except one FOCCER weekend) and is mint in fact the wife said I spend more time polishing it than riding it.

Had a serious back issue a few years ago and really nearly lost mobility and other lower functions - I'm OK now but frightened me having had a taste of nearly ending up paraplegic - it just happened due to back wear and tear.

I've lost confidence on the bike and really only done trips for MoT and the odd bimble in the last few years hoping to get my confidence back but its not happened. i just think even a small offf ...well you get the picture.

So sadly thinking of selling.

I can honestly say this bike is a stunning example, not a mark on it, bog standard except for a gear indicator specifically designed for Fazer.

I would like it go where it gets TCL and pleasure riding  it would be shame for it to be a work horse if you see what I mean.

QUESTION: Do I try and sell it now out of "season" and not the best time, or, wait till next year - into buying season but another year older.

Thoughts....

  Couple of problems
Posted by: zebadee86 - 20-12-12, 08:08 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (7)

Hi Guys
I have owned a Fazer for almost a year and I love it.

Over the last couple of days i have noticed very excessive white smoe from the exhaust even when the bike is warm, The smoke smells a bit fuelly...... This has just started suddenly and i kinda woried that it ould be serious  :'(
Second problem has existed since i purchased the bike

The fuel gauge is constantley stuck at full exept for when the fuel light comes on the needle seems to go back to about a quater but then often goes back to full again after a while.

I have no mechanicle mechanical knowledge so I am just after a bit of advice please  Big Grin

Thanks
Dave

So about to change my oil so I look on eBay and find this.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/280705472621?s...1423.l2649

Good Price I am happy with that.

I phone Yammy up to get a price and he says I will do you 25% off so £36 with a genuine Yammy Filter.

He said don't get a 3rd party filter because it's just like cleaning your old one. How true is this or is he BSing me?

He has a Fazer himself so if he is reading this HI!!

Hey guys and gals.
Just thought I would say merry Christmas and happy new year to you all?
I can honestly say that this forum and all the lovely people on here have made my year more enjoyable and informed. We've had some real laughs and some sad times too, but there is always good banter to be had so keep it up.
My bike is 100% better with the upgrades that I've done to her thanks to the brilliant folks on here with the help and knowledge that they share willingly with us all.

Thank you all.

Mickey
