Interesting, particularly about having tyres that are too good for your riding. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01YlwusCSlE

  Clutch renewal

When it's time to change a slipping  clutch do you change just the friction plates or must the steel plates be changed as well?

  Dogbone lengths: fzs600 Jack up/lowering
Posted by: sicknote - 28-02-20, 10:31 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (2)

Looking for the lengths of the various dogbone lengths that alter the ride height for the fzs600.
Have searched this forum but not found anything definitive.
Believe I am correct in saying the standard dogbones are 140mm.
Would like to know the dogbone lengths (C2C) for the +15mm raise 'jack up' Kit , also the +25mm, (which a lot of people seem to go for), also the +40mm, etc.

Be interested to know the lengths for lowering links also, so they are all here and easily searchable.

If you drive an expensive car you're probably a jerk, scientists say

Quote:A new study has found that drivers of flashy vehicles are less likely to stop and allow pedestrians to cross the road -- with the likelihood they'll slow down decreasing by 3% for every extra $1,000 that their vehicle is worth.

Anyone had Ivan ECU reflash ?
Posted by: Graham53 - 27-02-20, 07:45 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (4)

Ive found out today that I’m due a small windfall in a few months  ( thank you Mr Khan ) so I’m going to get  Ivan to re flash my ECU,
However I’ve got a few questions and TBH don’t want to phone the US yet as it says on his web page contact only by phone I’d rather do it when I’m in a position to send it and that will be when I get the bonus which we haven’t got a date on yet.

What I’d like to know is how long does it take door to door ? What is the best way to send it ? Does it go through customs on its return and therefore incur import charges and sit in Coventry for a week?  as I’ve not purchased the physical item that’s being sent but is my property but I’ve paid for a service provided in the US it seems a bit grey
Any help greatly appreciated

  Steering head bearings
Posted by: Steve3351 - 27-02-20, 06:19 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (6)

Hi Foccers. My steering head bearings are pretty worn..was thinking of replacing them, (presumably the original ball bearing type) with a new set of roller bearings.
How difficult is this, without special tools...? I'm especially thinking of getting the lower bearing race correctly seated in the frame..? :eek Have seen a few instructional vids and this seems to be the hard bit. Smile Big Grin :rolleyes :lol

and while I'm at it, my forks are horribly rusty just below the fairing...cosmetic really but how difficult is it to replace the inner part of the fork...and wot bits should be replaced when one is doing it..?

UPDATE... :eek  Jaysus!..was just checking the price of new forks..WAAAY too much. Wot about getting forks rechromed, is that an option...?

  Wheel removal
Posted by: Bazza123 - 26-02-20, 12:21 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (4)

Hello all
Going to be taking the wheels out for some new tyres - can anyone advise on socket size for both front and rear please. Is it necessary to hold a socket/spanner on both sides of the rear spindle when doing back up?

Thanks
