  Quick Question about Fork Oil
Posted by: packie - 18-01-13, 12:41 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (4)

What amount did you guys put into your fork legs when using the heavier 15w grade oil? Is it the same as the specs or did you put less?

Cheers in advance,
Packie

Winter adrenalin idea squash by sense police
Posted by: tiggr2 - 18-01-13, 12:18 PM - Forum: General - Replies (7)

Just thought id share my idea in case any of you nuts can get away with it.
There I am fazer all attatched to the optimate waiting for ice to disapear and getting the kayak out; Heather comes out (wife) - "what you doing its way to cold to play in water"; big smile on my face "grand kids coming over at weekend, Im taking them sledging; this will be much faster than a sledge and much more fun"
Needless to say 5 minutes later kayak back in garage  :z

Rip Off Britain - Admiral insurance.
Posted by: Lazarus - 17-01-13, 11:38 PM - Forum: General - Replies (31)

My daughter (last year) came of the age that she wanted to learn to drive (oh dear god I silently said) but ew changed out car in September from an '04 Corolla 1.4 to an '07 Corsa 1.2.
I added her to the insurance as a Provisional License holder at the cost of £464. We have a multi car insurance with Admiral.
When I was on the phone changing the insurance, I also asked about the cost of insurance when she had her full license - the difference was an additional ~£120 (over and above the £464)
Today she passed her test (second time around) and I phoned Admiral to change the insurance to reflect her full license, credit card in hand waiting for the magical sentence " You owe £120(ish) pounds".
I just about choked on my haggis when the guy asked for £794.92
So, from September 2012 to early January 2013, the insurance premium has risen almost sixfold.
Tried talking to the persons manager - they werent interested. Not interested in adjusting the values, nor holding onto existing customers.

what a F**KING ripoff.

Does anyone else like unpainted engine fins?
Posted by: Motorbreath - 17-01-13, 10:16 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (20)

I think it looks much better but it seems that nobody else do this.

EDIT: Sorry I realize I did not explain it very well. I was talking about sanding the smaller lower fins that came painted from the factory, below the big unpainted ones.

  Hi Everyone! New foccer...
Posted by: twowheelsbetter - 17-01-13, 09:21 PM - Forum: Introduction - Replies (20)

Hi Everyone!
I'm doing my direct access course next week (in the bloody snow by the looks of it) and have bought a 2002 Fazer online.
Any advice on what to look for before handing over the hard earned £££? Any major warning signs to look out for? All seems pretty mint from the pictures, and I'm taking an experienced biker with me to collect (as I cant ride it yet - doh!)
Cheers all,
2WB

  Exhaust Gasket
Posted by: Yamazer-92 - 17-01-13, 08:49 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (9)

Got my down pipes off today with no issues thankfully, they were worse than I first thought but have been welded up and I have prepped them ready for painting tomorrow. The guy who welded them said I may want to start saving for some stainless ones as where they join at the V joints and all around there is pretty ropey and very thin to weld. Apparently he has a mate that actually makes them and showed me a set he had made for his Harley which looked amazing. His mate wasn't there to give me a quote but could be interesting to find out for the future. Anyway I am unsure of which gasket I need to replace the one between the back of the down pipes and the end can, mine looked like it actually had a bit of both of these. Definitely had the gauze but also the silver one, do I need to buy both or just one for replacement? Cheers

Any one fitted one of these after market full fairings from fleebay/Poland . I assume the fit will be ok but not perfect, not that fussed about that bit.
I mainly want one to keep the crub off the bike and me. Do they offer any weather protection.

Cheers
