Knocked up a nice 75 miler and in the process dropped my average mpg from 50 to 46 (I'm getting in to the swing of this :-).
My route was Market Harborough -> Melton Mowbray -> Bingham -> Syston and A47 back to Market Harborough.
Put a big smile on my face. £9.37 in fuel well spent.
Did you go out today ?, what was your route ?

Yesterday my yahoo email account was hacked from someone in Morroco, they have been sending random emails to people in my contacts list so if you receive any emails from me that look in any way suspicious please delete them immediately. One member has already received one so be careful.
I have taken the recommended steps from Yahoo to re-secure my account but I would advise anyone to make sure their password is very secure and to change it on a regular basis. I know it is a ballache but my own complacency has resulted in my email being hacked so it could happen to you as well.

Hi all,
I have decided to sell my Fazer as it really is not the bike for me.
My Fazer is a 2002 51 plate Fazer 1000 with 41,000 miles on the clock.
Its had a recent service (end of last year) where the oil and filter was replaced. At the same time I replaced the spark plugs, checked the clearances, (all OK and did not need shimming), balanced the carbs and replaced the chain and chain rings. I also fitted a scottoiler.
Last year I removed and free`d off the ex up valve, lubricated it and replaced the cables and adjusted it all so it all worked. (Its a detuned r1 engine in the Frazer thousand and apparently these seizing are a common fault.
Over the winter I removed the radiator, downpipes and swingarm. I replaced the downpipe studs with stainless as the originals had seized and put stainless dome headed nuts on to prevent the same thing happening again.
I cleaned and polished the headers (they are chrome plated stainless) and they have come up nicely. I resprayed the front of the engine and the rocker cover and the rad and all associated rad and fan brackets.
I resprayed the swingarm and greased all of the swingarm bearings and replaced the rear shock with an r6 shock from Luke.
The brake callipers were all overhauled with the pistons being popped out, cleaned, new seals and then new fluid flushed and bled through for front and rear.
The bike has heated grips and rental bars to give a more upright seating position.
I have some spares to go with it - front discs and pads, rear discs, rear plastics and undertrays, exhaust, nuts and bolts and various other bits and bobs.
The bike is MOT,d till end may and taxed till June. Its been 100% reliable and never let me down.
I have also got a load of receipts, old more and manuals etc for the bike.
If you'd like any more pictures let me know.
I did a thread on the work I did on the bike here:
http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=325067
I've got a givi rack, top box and panniers which I was going to sell seperatley I'm sure we can come to some arrangement with them if you are interested.
I'm looking for £1800ono which I think is reasonable but can't find anything to base it on so if you think its a bit much please shout...

| Rough warm up? |

Over the last few days i've had to persevere with the bike to get it to warm up, mainly at the initial start up.
It's very throaty after hitting the button and i have to coax it in to life with the tiniest amount of throttle.
Once it's cleared it's throat i let it tick over for a couple of minutes then i'll warm it up by riding, but even that takes another 5 minutes.
The thing that's confusing me is that it's been fine all over winter with the really cold weather, but today for instance was way warmer than we've been used to and it's been starting like a pig.
The battery's okay, no issues there, and once it's properly warmed up it behaves absolutely fine.
Got a newish K&N fitted, and the bike's used 5 to 7 days a week so it's not sitting about.
For the record i initially started the bike today with a Moto GP end can on, but then put my old Quill race can back on and went for a spin and everything felt good.
Any thoughts please ?
Just read this on another forum:
Re: Engine Rough at Start Up
Update - funny thing....after doing a valve adjustment on my ST1100....found 2 valves were on the tight side...at the limit but not below the limit....guess what ? Two shims later they are all back in exact specs now and NO more rough start-ups. Only did it on very cold days and for very short time. Passing this on as a tip to check your valve clearances if you are having these symptoms.

| Condensation in engine oil: How often do you change yours? |

Yesterday I got lectured at the local bike shop for not changing my oil often enough, the irony is I thought I was quite good at changing my oil.
The bike hasen't been used much since I bought it, been mostly using the bandit due to the crap weather. I do start it up at east once a month if not more and when the weather is nice enough I take it out for a spin.
The shop's argument is if the bike dosen't get used from one week/s to the next, condensation can build up and contaminate the oil etc.
