I've currently got some Maxxis Supermaxx tyres on my bike, and I'm not a huge fan. The wear is really good, but I don't feel confident on them. The grip isn't brilliant, and despite not leaning over that far, there are no chicken strips on the rear tyre. They're only half worn for the moment, but I want to be well informed when it comes to changing time.
I had Pirellis on my 125, and loved them. I was wondering if anyone had fitted the Diablo Rossos to theirs, and could comment on handling / wear etc?
Bike running sweet except for a little hesitation at times at extreme low revs (1000-1500rpm). More than likely its slightly blocked pilot jets. Not wanting to take out the carbs as the problem isn't that major, I was looking at maybe an easier softer solution like buying something to flush through with the fuel that might dislodge the gremlins and do the trick. :2guns :look
I was looking at some STP products in a local car accessory shop, and sort of found something that I thought might be worth a bash. But I had to decide weather to pick their standard "red bottle" fuel cleaner (€9) that you apply at every fill up, or their most expensive high strength complete fuel system cleaner & maintenance (€22) that is applied at every oil change. Since you mix a bottle of the high strength complete fuel system cleaner with about 60lts of fuel, you will have to use one bottle over 3 fill-ups approx, so its the equivalent of using 3 x €9 worth of the standard fuel cleaner anyway.
The upshot is that even though i'm sceptical about such products....its seemed to have actually worked!! After my 2nd fill-up, I noticed that the bike is running even more sweet now and that the low down hesitation seems to be gone. Here is a photo of the product I bought, and there is a link as to the different strength that each product has. The product I bought has the highest strength...hence I suppose the highest strength price too!
But warning....Try it at your own risk and at your own loss if it don't work for you. I'm only sharing my experience with it and I am not advocating anyone to go out and purchase it. But after my experience, I personally think it is well worth for me to do it maybe every 2 oil changes when my plugs and filter are due, just to keep on top of the fuel system so that it is clean and lubed on a fairly regular basis.

Just got my cousins bike for saint Patrick's day parade, he wanted me to being it tru the parade today and tomorrow, but the front tyre is 120 and the difference is diabolical, is too sensible on small movements and fairly smooth on twistys but you have to force the counter steer more than my own 110 tyre, any helpful tips on reducing the sensitivity on the small movements? Or anyone have a 120 on there front? It's a street fighter front and horrible bars and the clutch and brake are angled too far down and hard to reach levers, also when I brought it home yesterday the handles were loose and the lights keep blowing, but I don't mind, only have it for 2 days. Very smooth carb but more power in my own, have competition only viper end can and standard exhaust down pipes, far rather my own, rear hugger belly pan, no fender extender ok front and double lights wired to the front
I think that's where the light problem is, only had the bike down the road 10 minutes and the lights went, replaced the fuse with a 15 (hadn't a 20) but revved the bike and it blew, so put in a 30 and it blew the starter relay fuse so the bike just conked and wouldn't start so I replace the 30 on the starter and left no fuse in the lights, he has a short somewhere in the lights,
I will never say that my bike is dangerous on the road ever again because this one is a nightmare
started my Gen 1 this morn & popped a multi metre across the battery while i was waiting for her to warm up. the reading was 11.9v for a second, then to 12v (the Fan was on). i then left it a minute or so and tried it again.....11.9v for the first second then sat at 12v.
i then acidentally knocked it in to gear so it stalled due to the side stand being down. So started her up again and put my metre across and it was 12.3v......waited a minute or so again.......tried again and it was 12v
even with the fan on, lights on (as there automatic) that is too low. Any advice on next course of action?
