Ive got an 03 fazer with 17900 on the clock. After repairing a hole in the exhaust, changing the oil ad fitted new plugs I've noticed that there is a tapping noise coming from the head. I can hear it on both sides but its louder on the right side. It there all the time even when the bike is warm. I tend to hear the sound more when im on the bike. Is this normal for fazers?

| Rear wheel bearing -looking for hints and tips |

Having a go at my first chain and sprocket change this afternoon, but as I pulled the rear wheel out, the left spacer fell out and exposed a totally knackered bearing.
It will obviously need to be replaced, but this is another job of which I have zero experience. I'm looking for as much info and advice as I can get before I attack this in a few days time.
Are these bearings ones that are best replaced with OEM, or would Wemoto parts or similar be OK?
Thanks in advance,
Jamie

Hi everyone.
Firstly I'm new to the forum so thought id say hello. Had a few fazers over the years both 600's and 1000's. Now on my 3rd fzs600 as I need better fuel economy. Great to be back on the fazer. Brilliant bikes and this looks like a great forum.
One question I have is does anyone know of any mod to raise the seat height as I'm finding it a little low for comfort now. I have heard of the suspension mod, but does this alter handling?
Many thanks..

| Low revs stuttering |

Hi all,
Since last year I've noticed stuttering on the low revs - up to 3/4 000 rpm. When i keep the revs at around 2,500 rpm the engine sounds nearly like an old two stroke.
I've searched for similar threads on this forum, followed the advice there and I've:
- replaced plug caps
- checked spark plugs
- balanced carbs (Autumn)
- I've added some carb cleaner to the fuel (Profi Fuel Max) - didn't seem to help much
I think that there are two possibilities left - either the HT leads (and coils) need replacing or the jets are clogged.
Do you know how can I check whether the HT leads are faulty, and what should I use for cleaning carbs (once I open them up).
Or maybe you have some other ideas ?
Thanks
