  Stainless downpipes
Posted by: Gingernutz - 28-05-13, 08:36 PM - Forum: General - Replies (10)

Hi all, my pipes are knackered but before I get more wanted to check if anyone can recommend one make over another. I remember horror stories back in the day of some not fitting. Anyone use these:

FZS600 double bubble screen (Skidmarx) FOR SALE
Posted by: Fuzzy - 28-05-13, 08:15 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - No Replies

Skidmarx light/ medium tint db screen in good nick. No nasty marks. Big improvement over standard screen in my case anyway. I fitted a bigger touring screen for winter and decided to leave it on so this is just taking up space.

One of the bolt holes was enlarged to make fitting it to my fairing easier, but it isn't visible once the bolt is in.

£30 incl p&p. Paypal is fine

  FZS1000 rear caliper SOLD
Posted by: Fuzzy - 28-05-13, 07:56 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (4)

Bought it and cleaned it up to fit to my 600 but I'm moving house soon and don't think I'll get round to fitting it to be honest. Think this came off from Packie's old bike.

Has been given new nipples and covers, new "R" clips and the caliper has been cleaned up in general, including the pins. Everything is in good order and although I never fitted the caliper myself, I have no reason to believe the pistons would not be free. They are pushed back into the caliper which means they were free at time of removal which wasn't all that long ago. Part worn pads, I flat sanded them so they should be good to use straight away.

£60 + p&p. Paypal is fine

  how old is old.

I was just reading a topic on here and some of the lads  think they are old at 50, I am 47 and still feeling good, and I am of the opinion once you start to feel old you get old faster,  so how old is old?

Rear Caliper - Helped Needed - Pictures of Issue - Stuck Piston
Posted by: Andy Smith FZS - 28-05-13, 05:23 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (26)

Ticking off my to do list for the MOT (Round 2)

Back caliper needs a new set of seals, I went for non OEM ones  (let the debate begin..)  :lol

My dad had taken one of the pistons out, fitted a new dust seal and tryed to refit the piston just to see if it made a difference I guess..  (sticky caliper - failed mot!)
Not sure why he didn't replace both seals but anyhoo.  Pistons stuck, tryed putting a g clamp on the other piston, plumbed it up back on the bike to try and work the bugger out.
No joy with this so I think there's a slight gap, although I didn't see brake fluid flying everywhere when pumping the brakes - brakes were bled properly.  I've added some pics of the offending piston in the caliper.
Yam dealer will probably skin me a few quid so would like to avoid that if possible.  Dont want to rip the piston to pieces with a set of mole grips.  Plus you can't seem to be able to buy the piston on its own.  Bit of pain seeing how I've bought 2 packs of seals because I lost the first set.

Ps  I don't have a grease gun or an a decent air compressor.

Pics show the piston isn't dead square.
Any questions, any help please fire away.

Has anyone changed an engine on an FZS600?

If so how easy / difficult is it?

And what's the easiest way of getting an engine out or in?
