Stainless downpipes - Gingernutz - 28-05-13 Hi all, my pipes are knackered but before I get more wanted to check if anyone can recommend one make over another. I remember horror stories back in the day of some not fitting. Anyone use these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Yamaha-FZS600-Fazer-98-03-Stainless-Steel-Pattern-Downpipes-Front-Pipe-/130918155208?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item1e7b5483c8 Or these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FZS600-FZS-FAZER-600-EXHAUST-PIPES-DOWNPIPES-FRONTPIPES-HEADERS-/130916432853?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item1e7b3a3bd5 Ta paul Re: Stainless downpipes - Dead Eye - 29-05-13 Mine came from Sandy Bike Spares and have been very good, fitted straight on and survived a fire ![]() Most people usually recommend the Motad ones though which have the balance pipes Re: Stainless downpipes - rufus t glasgow - 29-05-13 (28-05-13, 08:36 PM)Jaffro link Wrote: Hi all, my pipes are knackered but before I get more wanted to check if anyone can recommend one make over another. I remember horror stories back in the day of some not fitting. Anyone use these:I recently got a set from m&p's.made by delkevic, fitted perfectly. They come with a spring puller, link pipe gasket, header gaskets and a wee tube of copper ease type stuff. However the header gaskets are to small, so you'll need to order some separately from wemoto or somewhere similar. All in all I think they're pretty good for the money. Al. Re: Stainless downpipes - FlashBack - 29-05-13 Mine came from Sandy Bike Spares too and also fitted straight on. I think it's run by a Hornet's Nest bloke called Deefer or something like that. Re: Stainless downpipes - Gingernutz - 29-05-13 Thanks guys Re: Stainless downpipes - Fazerider - 29-05-13 There does seem to be an issue with the quality/thickness of the stainless steel header clamps on Sandy Bike Spares downpipes. Two of them on mine fractured and a few others have reported the same problem. That, and the lack of balance pipes, means I won't be buying downpipes from them again. I would also like to add that the delkevic headers do have balance pipes Re: Stainless downpipes - gassitt - 29-05-13 Think youll find Mark ( Deefer ) is very EX hornets nest and nowt to do with Sandy Re: Stainless downpipes - Gingernutz - 29-05-13 Was waiting to see Mark's reaction............. I believe he is a big Hornets nest fan ![]() Re: Stainless downpipes - NotAnotherHill - 29-05-13 +1 for SandySpare downpipes. Had mine on about a year. Fitted straight on. No problems with the header clamps on mine. Re: Stainless downpipes - elbrownos - 01-06-13 Just bought a set from Motad for £150 + postage Haven't got around to fitting them yet but they look pretty nice in the shed. I've also made new exhaust studs from a length of stainless M6 rod from Toolstation (£2) and bought stainless long nuts from Ebay. |
