Proxxon tools, any good?
Posted by: Slaninar - 23-07-13, 08:54 AM - Forum: General - Replies (10)

I found these:

Regardless of the price, are these tools any good?Proxxon is a UK company (is it?), so guess some of the FOCcers might have given it a try.

Looking for decent set of ratchet tools with sockets that won't cost an arm and a leg, but are good enough not to break themselves or strip bolts.

just enquiring if anyone has one of these installed, Would like to remove that pesky limit on the first gear. and also see if it removes the "run like crap mode" when removing the speedo drive as i have done. (although it is barley noticeable)Problem is.. i have removed the speedo drive and most of the pictures i have seen on the net show the deice going in between the drive and the loom, but others go between the ecu and the loom, which one is used for the fazer? Thanks,

Do you and how long did it take you to filter with confidence and what are your do's & don'ts

I like to get up front and put the bike and myself in front of any other vehicle to show my intention as I have been in a position when cage drivers will try and race me with little success but try and force me over. They do not like a bike progressing.

How do people clean helmet interior liners?
Posted by: SteveMc278 - 22-07-13, 11:38 PM - Forum: General - Replies (11)

I've got a Shoei full face helmet but only the cheek pads are removable, not the bit that goes over top of my head. To complicate things I've got Autocom headset installed which is really fiddly to remove & put back. So basically  am looking for just a convenient method to clean the inside until I go the whole hog which is to use a shower head and some fabric cleaner. I'm sure I'll be corrected if this is a bad idea Big Grin .
Advice & other peoples experiences all appreciated.
Cheers

Clutch lever freeplay too much even with a new cable
Posted by: nrx_red - 22-07-13, 10:28 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (10)

Hi there, I've got a problem with the clutch on my 2003 FZS600.  I noticed the clutch freeplay was a bit more than it should have been and tried tightening the cable, but the handlebar adjuster was already wound most of the way out.  So I thought I'd have a go at the other end, couldn't get a spanner with enough offset for the locknut so I used a socket (took some welly before it came loose), but the centre screw still wouldn't move and I didn't want to chew the end up, so I ordered a pattern clutch cable to take up the slack.  Just fitted that and it is just the same as it was before.  Is there anything else past the clutch cable which could have worn / stretched / broken to make this effect?  She's got 32000 on her and is mechanically all original.
