Last week I gracefuly met the ground :o (I was actually getting of the bike whilst stationary with side stand down, in gear when gravity took me to the point of no return) and was pinned by my trusty FZS600. Visible damage to near side mirror and casing. Nowt bad its all cosmetic. Got it home and out to work I trotted.
Today has been the first time I have had chance to check it over. So hear are the results:
Damage cosmetic and can be live with
Break fluid and breaks OK
Could not get the tank off to check the radiator level but expansion tank on lowest level. Over flow accounts for this.
Engine oil level not indicating at all and looks as if nothing is in it but was showing between the dots week previous. Ran the bike for 15 mins and no change.
The two above things I am concerned about is the not been able to get tank off so could indicate twisted frame but rides fine. The other is the oil?
All ideas and advice greatly recieved
Daz :\

| Is the s2 a quick bike? |

I have had my s2 for a few weeks now and around 700 miles and I thought it would hold its own but am very surprised at is performance. I'm no road racer but I have been out with a few friends and up to 70 mph....hmmm it's just about as quick as any bike. Above 3 figures it begins to trail off but to be honest that's not a problem for me.

As title really. Arse is killing me after 90-100 miles. I've been on a fazer before and not had this issue, also, on the other bike I seem to remember only getting one foot on the ground, but on mine I can plant both feet (about 5ft 7-8) flat on the floor.
Any way to tell by measuring it, as I'm not sure if the seats been done or someones changed the dog bones etc.

I would like to be able to see the road this winter as my bike is my only form of transport. Can anybody suggest a good up-grade kit for the head lamp of a year 2000? My mechanic mentioned something (HID?) that he said to stay away from because it can get too hot and tends to melt and burn parts of the housing.
I'm not the most mechanically minded guy, but am very keen to learn as much as possible about my bike and all of it's possibilites. Has anyone up-graded their lamps sucessfully and were are the kits available?
Thanks.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-23713732
The new measures to combat "antisocial driving" are coming into force today but a few of the bullet points concerned me,
"Overtaking and pushing into a queue of traffic" & "Being in the wrong lane and pushing into a queue on a roundabout"
How will these effect filtering?
I can't find anything on the interweb and the department of transport statement/news coverage is especially vague. The IAM and MAG haven't said anything on their respective websites either.
I think it's going to come down to discretion of the officer, we're all doomed...
