  R1 question
Posted by: Mark YPVS - 14-12-13, 07:07 PM - Forum: General - Replies (4)

Hi All

Does any one know if the can chain tensioner is the same on the 5JJ ( carb) as the 5PW (injection), or is it worth fitting a manual tensioner?

Thanks
Mark Smile

Xbox One console - Milton Keynes
Posted by: FuZzBoM - 14-12-13, 12:49 AM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (1)

Hi all, I have a spare Xbox One for sale. These are going for £550+ on eBay, I thought I would offer it for £500 on here 1st. (Just the console, no games)
I would rather collection or happy to meet/deliver depending on distance. Given the time of year I would rather not post it if I can help it.

I did not plan to buy 2 and make a few quid out of it really. I ordered one online but it was delayed.. I was then told they could not promise delivery before xmas. In the meantime a friend who works at Argos knew I was looking for one. Well I decided to go for it. Then guess what happened!! I get an email to tell me original order dispatched lol.

If interested drop me a PM, Cheers
Rob

Posted by: nickodemon - 14-12-13, 12:09 AM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (76)

Hi, Who knows the exact model of r1 front end that fits the fzs 1000? What is required? Does it go straight on or is there new bearings etc.. required. Regarding the rear are nitron shocks the way to go? I have the r6 shock mod, which is good, but may want to go to the next level. Thanks, Nick.

  Coolant change help please
Posted by: spencer_foxwell - 13-12-13, 03:53 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (32)

Hello, me again. I've gotta change the coolant on my 400 and am looking for tips basically. I've done it on cars in the past but never a bike. What's the procedure and where are the bits I wanna play with?

Errr and which coolant do I wanna use? I've found the reservoir and frankly, it looks empty.  :eek

Thanks for any help Smile

  Have bought Neil's FZ1
Posted by: lew600fazer - 13-12-13, 02:14 PM - Forum: General - Replies (6)

Well I really wanted this bike so to save myself transport costs Neil has kindly said he will keep it for me in Glasgow until I come over in April.
So the deal is done roll on April. Got a mate of mine from the Z1000SX forum who lives in Glasgow to call at Neil's and give the bike a once over. Andy's description of the bike. Absolutely spotless, a well looked after and maintained bike, Neil has even given the bike a light film of protective oil to keep her mint, suspect he means the AFC50.
The bikes first outing with me will be from Glasgow down to the Pendle/Dales districts for the Z1000SX spring meet and ride out, Should be about 25>30 of us for that. Andy will be coming as well on his Z1000SX so hope I can do the FZ1 proud. After that weekend I will be heading down to my Place here in Spain.
It is going to be a long old winter, thankfully though I still have my FZ6 to keep me happy until April, The FZ6 will be staying as well until her who has to be obeyed tells me different.
Wish me luck with all those Z1000SX boys come April, mind you they will not give me to much grief as a couple are ex FZ1 owners and they praise the bike highly, one lad still has his and he is giving me tips on gearing.
Lew
How would you rate his advice so far.
I can certainly tell you my experiences for you to use or not as you see fit.

I went with -1 front (16) and +1 Rear (46) with standard chain (as it still fits) and I highly recommend this set up.  I found the gearing quite tall on the FZ1 and you really have to give the FZ1 a handfull to get it going (and when it gets going boy does it get going) but after the gearing change I found I was in a better gear for corners etc and it really did shift straight away from low revs.

I ordered my chain and sprockets from www.bandcexpress.co.uk and was happy enough with the product and service.

You'll also need a speedo healer to correct the speedometer as the new gearing will make the speedo inaccurate.  I got mine from www.healtech-electronics.com.

Like I also said in the post, definitely get your suspension set up for your weight/riding style.  It's really surprising how much confidence it gives you and will make you enjoy your riding a lot more.
Would appreciate what you think of his advice , he comes across well on the Z1000SX forum and is gaining a lot of respect for his help and ideas concerning mods he is doing to the SX.
Lew
