Old one below

New one

Good condition other than a botched rear LED light/indicator conversion. Some people should be banned from owning tools.

  FZS 600 Issue
Posted by: tgordine - 12-04-14, 05:59 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (6)

Hello everyone, I'm new to the worl of owning a fazer and also to this forum so firstly just wanted to say hello to everyone but also at the same time I have an issue with my fazer I was hoping you guys could help with.

Pas I have only recently got a fazer I was taking a look at a few bits today but I seem to have dislodged some hoses and can't for the life of me see where they connect to. I can see that they both go into the carbs and that end is still connected, this picture shows them quite well;

It's the 2 hoses at the bottom of the picture one is shorter than the other but does anybody know where the other end of this connects. Many thanks for any help.

Fazer 1000 or FZ1 eternal dilemma
Posted by: Krezi - 12-04-14, 01:15 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (39)

Hi Guys,

I am torn between Fazer 1000 and FZ1 and I read all threads on the forum Wink

A couple of things I need the bike to do and what I will be using it for. I will use it daily for commuting and occasional weekend trips locally. I want it to offer good wind protection and handle precisely. I am not expecting big Bandit low down torque but would want decent acceleration on top gear from 30 mph. Comfortable riding position is essential. Had Triumph street triple r which was a sublime handler. Lack of fairing killed it for me!
Regarding maintenance would like to keep it to minimum and here carbs vs injection? Advantages and disadvantages of both? Is EXUP servicing time consuming and messy?
Is fz1 suspension much harder than Fazer 1000? I presume with full adjustability I would be able to get it where I want it. On FZ1 some people put in R1 rear shock. Could it be set as a balancing act between handling precision and comfort? I set up my triumph as very hard once and it was impossible to use on a public road hence the question.
Is there much difference with torque distribution between the 2?
I presume riding position is comfortable on both?

Thanks to all for their input and patience...

Paul

Blue Foxeye 14900 miles for sale £1595
Posted by: g1hsg - 12-04-14, 12:52 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (17)

Where to start. New to the forum so it's the very height of cheek to advertise here so let me start by saying that I had no intention of selling when I bought the Foxeye off Mickvp at the end of last month. Mick has been gracious in suggesting that I could try using the forum to pass on the bike to someone who could actually use it !Truth is that I failed to appreciate just how much my back has deteriorated over the last few years. Riding is just not a viable option as I have to load up with so many painkillers to get my leg over the bike (fnarr fnarr) that I'm neither legal nor safe to ride. :\  I'd like to tell you that my back problem is a result of an epic but undocumented battle with the late, great and much lamented Joey Dunlop but the truth is rather more prosaic involving nothing more than a higher than average kerb and my inattention.

I've put precisely zero miles on the bike since I've had it. Serviced under a thou ago it's had

New oil filter (K&N).
Oil change (Silkolene).
Air filter changed (OEM).
Iridium Spark Plugs Fitted (NGK)
Brake lines changed for braided lines (Goodridge 2 line front, single rear).
Brake fluid changed (Ferodo super DOT 4).
Front & Rear brake pads changed (Ferodo platinum all round).
Carbs Balanced.
New Michelin PR2 tyres front and rear.
New number plate

New D.I.D. chain and sprockets fitted less than 100 miles ago

It also has the following bits fitted:

Clear lens covers
Fenda-Extender.
Colour coded rear hugger.
Engine crash bars (I think they are renntec ones).
Renntec sports rack (not currently fitted, but whoever buys the bike is welcome to it).
Beowulf radiator cover
Scottoiler
Included is also the OEM yamaha toolkit under the seat (all the bits are there), and I have 3 keys for it and a folder with a load of old MOT's etc.

HPI clear with the V5C in my name and address
I'd like £1595

Opinion needed on Michelin Pilot Powers
Posted by: acat002 - 12-04-14, 11:40 AM - Forum: FZS600 - Replies (1)

Hi.
Anyone tried a set of Pilot Powers? I'm having a set fitted this afternoon for £235 all in. Before I spend the cash I hoped I get the low down on them. US sites Revilla seems to rate them. I use the bike for a 60 mile daily commute on A roads.
