Hi all, had a fantastic blast out today all the way from Somerset to Portsmouth and back again!
Any how I'm almost home and go to overtake and hit a false neutral, revs Max out before I engage 3rd properly and complete the overtake. Immediately after my rpm gauge starts switching between 0 rpm and 4k rpm then to my actual rpm. It repeats this every few seconds? Bike seems to be running OK tho?
Anyone got a clue what might have happened?

Thought I better post a wee intro..... I ride an 02 Fazer600 and am enjoying this wee bike a lot.
Pix I dunno how to get them on here  but the wee bike n me are on u tube,I can't do links either but if interested type. Chas 2014.


I ride out with some quick lads and am happy enough arriving when they are all half way through their tea..chips whatever.
I am , ahem,cough splutter  a mere 57 years young and enjoy riding out at mainly permissible speeds when on public roads and enjoy the craic with other bikers as we all have the greatest stories to relate.
It would be cool to ride out with some other fazers  sometime.
Enough bout me, now I am gonnnae enjoy surfin through this site Willie

I foolishly sold my Givi pannier frames and E21 panniers to another forum member about 18mths ago. I would now like to try and replace them for a French trip in September.

Found out last evening a friend who has the same model Fazer 8 as myself, bought with 900 miles on the clock last year has had the clutch [color=rgb(0, 0, 255)][/size]disintegrate[/color][/size], causing a potential repair bill of £1300 still under warranty, but Yamaha say this is due to abuse.
[/size]Prior to buying the Fazer was riding a 600 1998 Bandit for years, lovingly cared for and in excellent condition with no mechanical problems, experienced rider, passed advanced training, so sympathetic to clutch and bike in general without being unprogressive.
[/size][/color]Never heard of a Yamaha clutch doing this, had a Yamaha since 2000, did huge mileages on all of them without any problems apart from alternator failing on first R1 a week before warranty expired thankfully, so it was covered.
[/size][/color]Would appreciate any help feed back on this please.
