so you buy a bike on ebay.............
Posted by: sadlonelygit - 21-05-14, 09:58 AM - Forum: General - Replies (21)

but get no reply from the vendor either to calls or via ebay.
how long do you leave it before writing off the sale, bearing in mind that collection has to be co-ordinated due to travelling distances.

  RECTIFIER
Posted by: M4RTIN - 21-05-14, 09:41 AM - Forum: Fazer 8 / FZ8 - Replies (3)

Because the Fazer 8 has ABS,  Yamaha in there wisdom stuck the rectifier in front on the oil viewing glass, as the ABS unit is where it is on non-ABS bike.
Has anyone moved it on there bike to somewhere out the way.

  Floods in my country
Posted by: Slaninar - 21-05-14, 05:38 AM - Forum: General - Replies (4)

My city is OK (hope Danube won't go wild as well), but lots of towns and vilages are flooded. Government has handled this in an awfull, disorganized manner, but people are surprisingly supportive and compassionate - when asked for 2000 volunteers in Belgrade, some 20.000 people showed up. Young people made me feel proud these days - old geezers saying things about estranged Facebook generation etc, but I saw loads of youth enthusiastic to go and build barriers, carry and bring aid etc. Wet, cold. It had been raining for days. Now it's getting hot, bodies of dead catle need to be cleaned and destroyed houses rebuilt.

  Multi-gauge Multi-buy?
Posted by: FuZzBoM - 20-05-14, 11:09 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (137)

Hi all, I have been enquiring with Christian about his Multi-gauge's. He has advised he does not currently have any stock but will have some by end of June.
It then occurred to me.. has anyone asked him about a group buy and if he can supply any discount on the units or even shipping?

I guess ideally it only really works if we can then coordinate getting them to individials when delivered to blighty.

Any thoughts on this or is it even worth my while asking him?

thanks,
Fuzz

How to fit FZ6 givi pannier rack to FZS600
Posted by: kevinmcglynn - 20-05-14, 10:07 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (24)

I posted on here several months ago, asking if anyone knew if it were possible to fit a givi pannier rack from an fz6 to an fzs600, as its no longer possible to get the ones designed for the fzs600. I only got responses from people who were either equally curious or who told me it wouldn't work and to buy a wingrack instead (not an option, far too ugly). But I was convinced it would work, and that it would be a better opinion than trying to make my own brackets from scratch or using one of those ugly wingracks.

So last month I bit the bullet and bought the PL351 givi monokey pannier brackets and set about trying to fit them to the bike, and it turned out to be even easier than I expected it to be, so I thought I would share some pictures of how I did it.

I made these 2 brackets out of 3mm thick steel, the two larger holes are 25mm diameter,  and the smaller is 9mm (for an 8mm bolt allowing for the thickness of the powder coat), I made them first out of 0.8mm steel as a template to check the fitment and then replicated this out of the thicker steel.

  Introduction
Posted by: sds06 - 20-05-14, 08:05 PM - Forum: Introduction - Replies (5)

Hello All,
Bit of an introduction. I am 37 years old and studying Motorsport Engineering at Derby, passed my bike test last year and have been spoilt in the fact my first bike is a 2000 FZS 600. I was involved in an accident early March which has kept me off the bike and I am currently rebuilding it. (Lots of questions to come).
I like golf and did enjoy riding the bike.
Don't really know what else to put.
Cheers for reading
Scott
