| E10 Winter storage. Starting up? |

Has anyone yet attempted to start their Fazer after a storage period of 6 months? I filled my Gen1 to the top with E10 which had a small quantity of engine oil added to possibly help reduce tank rust, I then blocked off the tank cap air vent with tape. These are two things I always do. Bike NEVER fails to start 1st time every time after 6 months storage. Owned five years. After storing I then started reading up about E10! ? Three months life span and all that. I don’t know how this will turn out but it will give me and others a definitive answer. ?

I've been rebuilding a 2002 FZ1 that had sat outside for 4 years. Been a tough road but I think we're finally at the "tuning" part. It runs, it drives, now just to get it to stop pouring oil on startup. :lol
Glad to be here. You guys have a wealth of knowledge.

I got an advisory on my latest mot to change the brake fluid, can anyone tell me is bleeding ABS any more of a pain in the arse than regular brakes, also I was thinking of adding some braided hoses but it seems a lot more expensive than regular brakes, not sure exactly what needs replacing

Just the usual heads up. It’s the Whitstable Egg Run April 3rd, leaving Tankerton Road Car Park, CT5 2AS, at 2pm. Bring an egg or make a donation on the day. Hot food available in the car park. The run is to a school in Canterbury.

According to the manual, the fuel tank on the FZ6 can hold 19.4 litres.
But does anyone know if that's the absolute maximum (ie brim full to the cap) or whether it allows for an air gap at the top?

| Fazer 1000, Holding revs when closing throttle? |

Hi Guy's,
Currently have a FZS1000 - Fazer 1000. When riding when you close the throttle the bike carries on, then the revs come back down slowly.
I've been through the following, new plugs, HT caps all tight on leads, carbs stripped, cleaned and balanced, air/fuel set at 3 turns out. As far as I'm aware the carbs are standard just with a aftermarket end can. New air filter, new fuel filter. EXUP valve removed and serviced and set up correctly.
I can't find any air leaks anywhere. Everything is tightened up.
The bike also when you start it revs upto about 3-4 but comes straight back to idle, this is starting it without any throttle or choke.
Also AIS is blanked off. Fresh coolant, new oil & filter too.
I'm at a bit of a loss as to why it's holding the revs I can't seem to find a reason why it's doing this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So I'm changing the battery on the 1000. No great shakes, easy job to do.
The question is, I come from a Lead/Acid background, always have fitted them as I like to be able to maintain levels etc.
The last battery I fitted to the 1000 was an sealed AGM battery, which has only lasted 7 years. Its hooked to an Optimate when the bikes not in use.
So, Are these Motobatt's any good and do they need their own chargers?
Has anyone had a really negative experience with Motobatt?
Has anyone fitted anyother make which they would like to recommend?
Looking at the Tanya website, there are a lot of batteries which are a fraction of the price, some AGM and some traditional Lead/Acid.
Lithium is off the menu - I don't agree with the employment methods for extraction! (And Boeing's keep catching fire :lol ) TIA.
