Update ... Keeping bike, shoulder's sort of on then mend ... Bike assembly is slow but going well, back on the rd very soon all being well.
Just putting feelers out, as considering selling my immac condition Gen1, 2003 / 26k, Silver Tech Metallic.
Chassis & body work:
- Bikes been fully stripped for a full refurb.
- Nose cones been fully stripped, steel frames been stripped to bare metal / etched & POR15 painted (Gloss Black).
- Fully assembled (10min job to refit to frame).
- Rear wheel's been repainted in 2pack Black gloss / new Michelin PR4 fitted.
- Airbox & engine are in frame, swingarm & rear wheel / carbon hugger / caliper all fitted.
- Engine has been bare metal prepped / etched & POR15 painted (Satin Silver)
- New (no miles / R6 Shock upgrade fitted (Rare Yellow spring model) extra new K-tech heavier Red spring included / 110NM.
- Every other component has been removed, bare metal etch prepped & POR15 painted.
- All ready to refit.
- Foot rest mounts have been fully stripped & polished, all steel parts POR15 paint (Gloss Black).
- All ready to fit.
- Top yoke to repaint.
- Bottom yoke to clean up & polish or repaint.
- Frame/s have been repainted in original factory (Dark Metallic).
- New Head bearing kit (taper roller kit / to fit) original bearing races still in frame, so option for either.
- Forks stripped / cleaned, all adjusters have been stripped / lubed & mirror polished & ready for assembly (K-Tech service kit 9.5 linear springs / dust & oil seals & oil).
- New Carbon hugger (fitted).
- New chain & silent front sprocket (to fit) chain & rear sprocket fitted are still good.
Engine:
- Engine casings are all removed, just needs Stator cover / Clutch cover / Ignition cover / rocker cover painting.
- Covers are pretty much stripped to bare, so option to polish alloy up or etch & repaint.
- Also have an as new Magnesium R1 rocker cover that I planned to fit.
- Headers have bare metal prepped, POR15 Satin Black to collector box & mounting flanges.
- Exup has been fully stripped & refitted, cover plate POR15 Satin Black painted.
- Carbs fully stripped Ultrasonic cleaned & rebuilt with full Monty MB Jet kit fitted & set as per Ivans recommendations, will just need a tweak & balance.
- Carb mounting rubbers have been ported out & matched to head ports.
- New Pipercross foam airfilter (to fit).
- Airbox lid mod (to do).
- Valve clearances checked & in spec prior to strip.
- All gaskets / seals included for casings.
- All stainless bolts included.
Other:
- A lot of hrs have gone into this refurb so far, not a lot of hrs required to re-assemble bike & finish off casings etc.
- Bike ran mint before refurb.
- New manual CCT (to fit).
- New Renthal bars (to fit).
- New Braided hoses (to fit).
- All bodywork in excellent condition.
- Seat's immac conditon.
- Bike will look as new when assembled.
All keys & Docs in my name / owned for 5yrs, no expense has been spared on this refurb (I have in excess of 3.5 Grand in this bike.) Reluctantly considering selling as no time to complete due to health issues. It's a shame for such a mint bike to not be assembled & ridden as intended. Serious enquiries only, Pics on request, Any questions pls PM me, am near Barnsley S/Yorks - Looking for £3,000
Thanks for looking.

Fazer 8 ABS Bleedin Brakes!!!! |

Hi, (skip to the bottom for the question if you can't be a***d to read the whole story)
I wonder if anyone can advise on a problem I have with my brakes. I recently bought the bike privately, 2013 Fazer 8 ABS, and it had no front brake, the parts were all there just the lever went straight to the bar!It needed new pads and the fluid looked like it needed changing so these were done and then I attempted to bleed.
I bled using the pump the brake and then release the bleed valve on the caliper method until I had a reasonable brake. All seemed well, I went back to the bike ten minutes later and the lever was straight back to the bar :'( I kept trying, and getting the same result so I thought master cylinder kit was required. Kit purchased and fitted, same result!!! :o I then bypassed/cut out the ABS unit and managed to get a decent brake that held so I assume the issue is with the ABS unit or an air lock in the ABS unit, so I put the system back together and tried bleeding sections of the system bit by bit, finishing off with a good bleed at the callipers and all seemed well, the pressure held and I thought I'd cracked it. So I get ready for a test ride, start the bike and when I go to move it, NO BRAKE!!!!!When I turned the bike off I pumped the brake a couple of time and have a brake again, and it's held for a couple of hours, but I haven't started the bike again. There is no apparent leaks or loss of fluid.
QUESTION: Is there a special way to bleed these brakes? Am I doing somthing obvious wrong? Any suggestions greatly received.Thank you.

Fitting/Bending Replacement fuel lines |

Hi All,
There's a similar post on this regarding routing new fuel hoses by Friar (https://foc-u.co.uk/index.php?topic=2712...rdseen#new) but I have a slightly different question to ask.
I want to replace the 3 fuel lines from tank to carbs.
What have people done in the past?
- Is there somewhere I can get OEM fuel hoses for cheap?
- Has anyone got straight hoses and then shaped them?
- Should I just apply the solution in Friar's post and get straight hose that is long enough to compensate for the tight space getting from points A to B?
I'm not sure how I should proceed.
Location: Sydney, Australia
Cheers

Went to the SB on Saturday. Took a ride out with a pal on my new bike.
The last time I went there must have been about 10 years ago (maybe more) with a bunch of foccers (MarchRide, MissHornet, Bert there Cert, Foggy, any of you still around?). Got me wondering if it's still a regular haunt for any of you?
Silver ball cafe it based on the A10 just south of Royston, and is in the middle of a network of some cracking roads. My personal favourite (and the one I revisited Saturday) being the A507.
I'm thinking of heading to a few more biker haunts as the last remaining weekends of decent weather slip away.
Super sausage near Towcester (was mobbed today with some event on)
Jack's Hills on the A5 / A43 junction.
Ace cafe maybe as well.
Anyone in the area heading anywhere like these (or others) and fancy a blast?

Hello everyone,
I have very recently bought a 2005 Fazer 1000 and I am loving her so far. There are a few things that need to be sorted out like the EXUP valved reinstalled as the previous owner removed the whole system.
I have noticed that she seems to show the idle speed at just over 1500 RPM yet to me and the garage who was looking over her it sounds like it is closer to 1000 RPM,
At 60MPH she is at about 4600RPM,
And finally when the EXUP faulty code comes up it shows 7500 on the Tacho rather than 7000 which I assume it should.
I recorded some vidoes to show whats happening
https://youtu.be/hHlyj2KlKao
https://youtu.be/IRFWKlyRFuU
from what I can tell the Tacho is showing 500RPM more in every situation more or less
Thanks,
Brian.
Has anyone experienced this problem before and know a solution?
Many thanks,
Brian
