Yous are totally right geezers, i used to be strictly all the gear all the time until complacency led me to make the decision that i was only going 2 mile to the mot station & back...bad enough in its own right but i did make it back.
The problem began when i drove passed my house to continue riding so going against my original plan so goes to show that no ,atter how small a journey, plans may change.
Its the same old story that people learn the hard way & ill now be one of those nagging bitches when people dont wear all the gear, although its still their choice in the end & we've all gone through this debate before.
The kit that i did have on, did work, gloves, helmet & jacket & gloves (helmet was covered in mud & grass from when i turned into a cow
).
The jeans may as well have been shorts & saved me the hassle of peeling the jeans off.
The rugged looking walking shoe/boots whilst better than flip flops still caused my toe to break & the shock went right up to my pelvis with my calf & hamstring muscles totally focced.
Ill get the bike back today & strip off the fairing& take a look at the bracket.
Is it worth buying one of those mini blow torch burners with a cannister from homebase to apply heat & then try chapping the bracket round with a hammmer????
