rev counter fault code

You've probably gone over this before,but i tried searching and couldn't find what i was looking for.Basicaly my rev counter is playing up with the ignition on everything seems fine.When i start up everything is fine for 5 seconds then the needle drops for a second then shoots up to 7k then starts working for 5 seconds then the cycle repeats i've checked the exup valve everything is free that end and i have not noticed any drop in performance.So for the love of god please help me it's driving me insane

Exup fault I think. Could be motor, cables or valve itself. Could be cables have stretched, valve may be sticking but the code is generated by the servo motor not being in the position it should be.

If your 100% sure the exup valve is ok then its most likely badly adjusted cables. vevery rare its the motor itself.
but be aware the exup can look great when you take it apart then stick as you tighten up the bolts

i took the pulley off an turned the valve by hand next question how do you adjust the cables? i was in belgium riding in terential rain when it first happened i suppose somethin could've slipped

problem solved it was the servo motor stuck a quick srip and lube did the trick thanks for your help
