Newbie with speedo problems
#1
Hi,
I'm from Southampton and I have a 2008 gen 2 fz1s which was an import from the states. i have had the bike for 6 years and it's been brilliant we have been to loads of places in Europe. Just recently though I have had problems with the clocks switching off. After a while they come back on again. I have followed the wiring diagrams on UK bikes (can't find US version) but still can't find the cure. I am suspicious of the condition of my battery and I will probably replace this but other than that it's new clocks. If any one has any ideas or has heard of this happening I would appreciate some help.

It's a cracking bike though.

Unlikely to be the battery at fault.
I would start by checking all the connections in the plugs (in the back of the clocks and where it connects to the loom) and cleaning them up.
I could change my opinion, but then we'd both be wrong.

Thanks for your help. I have taken the clocks out of the bike and given them a good spray with contact cleaner. There are two supplies to the clocks and two earths. I reckon it's either one of the earths with a high resistance or the clock module itself. I could do with borrowing a clock and trying it out.
